The Flying Scotsman: November 2014
http://dougmullin.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Blogs related to flying my paraglider, walking, cycling, skiing, being in France. Thursday, November 20, 2014. Fall colors here include blue skies, snow on the higher peaks, green pine trees and golden leaves and larch needles - all shown nicely in the sunlight. It's a lovely time of year. This photo doesn't contain all of these elements, but it conveys the atmosphere nicely. Saturday, November 1, 2014. Looking forwards and backwards. At the top, looking down. L ooking back up from the bottom.

Pleasant descent, with the second climb ahead over the col. Sunday, August 30, 2015. The Prologue - St Gingolph to Novel. I flew from Nice to Geneva this morning and in doing so was able to preview most of our hike - it looks relatively flat from the air! But just over an hour's flying will translate into about a month's hiking!
The Flying Scotsman: June 2015
http://dougmullin.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Blogs related to flying my paraglider, walking, cycling, skiing, being in France. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. There were 5 or 6 other people helping 'shepherd' the donkeys up the trail. I asked the last one where they were going and she said they were taking them up to the high pastures, where they would spend the summer. This is very common with sheep in the area (and also done with goats and occasionally cows), but it's the first time I've heard of it being done with horses and donkeys. Many summer afterno...

Blogs related to flying my paraglider, walking, cycling, skiing, being in France. Monday, December 1, 2014. I had a nice hike up the Pic de Chamatte today. I took the direct route up from Vergons and there was a little dusting of snow on the summit. It felt very airy and a foretaste of the coming winter. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
