They forwarded my email to Don Mitchell, the track plan designer and author of the article. Don's reply - the track plan had never been built! A chronicle of my model railroad layout construction project. 9 A helix is born! And how would I make the end pieces (semi-circles) without wasting a lot of that high priced stuff? After a lot of internal deliberation (looking inside wallet), I decided to use 7/16 OSB because it was less than half the cost of 1/2" plywood and my research indicated it is as strong as plywood for what I will be using it for. Lego Train set of Doug Ash. Located in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Like many adults I started playing with Lego when my kids were small. With daughters I felt a construction toy would offset what I abhorred in the toy industry’s stereotyping. I have to confess I enjoyed the first train sets more than my kids.
