Growing together as a family. Laquo; New Words. Feeling like a failure…. February 9, 2010 by Amanda. In no particular order. I was getting worried that I wouldn’t be able to finish my doula certification in time. I have until January 2011 to finish it and with the new baby arriving in September I figure I won’t have any time after the baby arrives. So my goal is to finish it by the end of June. In the past week I have gotten calls from Doulas Care. Prepare for a wonderful homebirth! Not only is this part...

Windflower Doula
http://www.windflowerdoula.com/about.html
The inspiration for becoming a doula arrived with the birth of my daughter. I knew right away that I wanted to support women through this sacred and profound life event. I completed doula training at the Center for the Childbearing Year. In Ann Arbor, Michigan, and gained practice through Doulas Care. In Oakland, CA; studied herbal medicine with Kami McBride of the Living Awareness Institute. In Vacaville, CA; and worked in San Francisco, CA, as an acupuncturist's assistant.

Tammy's Tastings: TT Supper Club #3
http://tammystastings.blogspot.com/2009/08/tt-supper-club-3.html
Sunday, August 09, 2009. TT Supper Club #3. I had a fabulous time last night, cooking dinner for eight great diners. Together, we raised $240 for Growing Hope. *And* I even remembered to take pictures! She made my job very easy, and was excellent company too. I've got two dinners coming up, one on August 29 for SELMA. And one on September 12 for Doulas Care. Now for some pictures from dinner #3! Bounty from the Farmer's Market waiting to be turned into dinner. Cauliflower Panna Cotta with Salmon Roe.

Monday, August 31, 2009. TT Supper Club #4. This past Saturday night I hosted a fundraising dinner for SELMA. This was my most ambitious menu so far, I think, but fortunately everything went off without a hitch! Pictures and menu below. And the guest list was great - as usual, I wished I'd had more time to spend getting to know my diners! For more pictures and commentary on the meal, check out this blog post.
