We also began to remove the half hatched alevin from yesterday, then it wriggled about and sorted itself out, so we put it back. We’ll have to see how it goes, it’s on the grid so we can see it well in any case. Here are the last two ova, they are dead which is why they didn’t hatch. From → Troot in the cupboard. Today all the eggs had hatched when we went and looked at the tank this afternoon. (There was one egg that was one the way to hatching with the alevin half out, we wondered if this one will make it.). Here are a few alevins. No dead eggs and we counted 58 live eggs. We can see the black dots in the eggs which are the eyes of the baby fish (they will be called alevins when they hatch). The hatched alevins are brighter orange and you can see their tails if you look carefully. Probably more as we can’t see a lot of the eggs, perhaps they have swum off on to the gravel.
