Patterns in Randomness: Spec Ops: The Line
http://patternsinrandomness.blogspot.com/2015/08/spec-ops-line.html
A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Spec Ops: The Line. Spec Ops: The Line. Is not quite the type of game I would buy based on its genre. But after having heard about its exceptional narrative, I did pick it from a Steam sale. I went into it quite skeptical, though. I tend to be wary of the popular opinion. Characters affected by the plot. The game can be quite odd in that regard too. One of the loading screen texts actually encourages you to continue killing sin...

Patterns in Randomness: August 2014
http://patternsinrandomness.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Saturday, August 30, 2014. I thought it was about time to read Andrzej Sapkowski. S Witcher books, and bought all the short story collections and novels at once. All the translated ones anyway, as curiously enough, only three of the five volume novel saga have been translated into English (and Finnish) even though the last two came out back in 1996 and 1997. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Third person hack and slash. Sunday, August 10, 2014. Had the same problem.

A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Saturday, August 29, 2015. At 500 pages, the third book of The Sundering series, The Adversary. Is thicker than the usual Forgotten Realms novel. Maybe it had the same deal as The Godborn. Of having a longer plot stuffed into a single book. I could not find any information indicating that, though. Erin m. evans. Sunday, August 23, 2015. I finally got to the third installation of the BioShock series, BioShock Infinite. Of which Dan Bull. Is a six-part, multi...

http://patternsinrandomness.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-godborn.html
A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Monday, August 10, 2015. Is a six-part, multi-author set of standalone novels that concerns the Forgotten Realms. Moving to the fifth edition of Dungeons and Dragons. Was the first book and I thought reading also the rest of the series might be an excellent way of acquiring more Realmslore. However, I am now considering skipping to the last volume (which is written by Ed Greenwood. Evidently, the second book of the series, The Godborn. By Paul S. Kemp.

Patterns in Randomness: BioShock
http://patternsinrandomness.blogspot.com/2015/08/bioshock.html
A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Saturday, August 15, 2015. Had I known how similar to System Shock 2. Is, I probably would have never played the former. BioShock has almost all the exact same features, just wrapped into more modern graphics and game design. The main difference is probably the setting – instead of a spaceship, BioShock takes place in an underwater city in 1960. It is definitely worthy of being called a spiritual successor to SS2. PC port bit shaky. I did not really use the...

http://patternsinrandomness.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Saturday, April 26, 2014. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. There are multiple reasons why I could never get into Oblivion. And I will probably mention a few of them in this post as I feel the fifth Elder Scrolls. Game also suffers from many of the same issues what pushed me away from previous one. But it is definitely better. I did finish it after all. Well, if you can say so of an open world game like Skyrim. Sunday, April 6, 2014. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Since The Sword of Destiny. 160;(Miecz przeznaczenia) - the other witcher short story collection - hasnt been translated into English, I bought it as a Finnish one. Which means it cost more than twice what an English paperback would cost. But what can you do; they just decided to skip translating it, even though it has two stories leading into the saga. Patterns in Randomness: July 2015
http://patternsinrandomness.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A blog about gaming, fiction, and human nature. Friday, July 31, 2015. I was somewhat hesitant when my sister handed me (a Finnish translation of) World War Z. To read as I recalled the movie being rather dull. Usually the book is better than the movie made from it but just how much better it could be this time. However, she assured me that the novel has little to do with the movie. And that indeed turned out to be the case. Friday, July 24, 2015. The Witcher Adventure Game. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
