Downey Civic Light Opera Closes. The Downey Civic Light Opera is closing after 58 years. The City of Downey and Venutech management company have made demands that are impossible for us to meet. I will be updating this website with further details after September 30, when we will leave the Downey Civic Theatre. Our address is still P.O. Box 429, Downey, CA 90241.
