Our Current Time and Weather. April 24, 2011 · Filed under Uncategorized. The longest day of our lives; We left Cairns at 2pm on April 20th, and arrived home at 8am on the 21st…. that doesn’t sound too bad right? Wrong, in between we had two overnight flight, three breakfasts, two dinners, no lunches, three time changes, crossed the international date line (aka two April 21st) and only a few hours of sleep. We were exhausted when we got back into Canada…. That would have cost atleast $15 in Australia!

Our Current Time and Weather. Word of the day: random! Thanks a lot North Island :). March 29, 2011 · Filed under Uncategorized. We don’t even know where to begin. A lot has happened since our last blog update! Our time on the North Island was filled with adventures and fun but it all felt very random. There were multiple moments of utter confusion ( WHERE are we? WHAT are we doing? Followed by sheer delight! More smell the Lady Knox Geyser. Our next stop was even more random Wai-o-tapu Geothermal Wonder...

Our Current Time and Weather. Our last big adventure! April 24, 2011 · Filed under Uncategorized. After leaving Magnetic Island we hopped on our last Greyhound trip – heading up to Cairns. You can’t go to the top of the east coast without going to the Great Barrier Reef, so we (including Lucy) booked a snorkeling day trip from Cairns for one of our last days in Australia! We were soooo excitied! The boat that took us out to the reef! Too much excitment for one day! We had more than enough beds for the th...

Our Current Time and Weather. February 22, 2011 · Filed under Uncategorized. Just a quick post to tell everyone at home that we are safe and sound! Yesterday’s earthquake was quite scary, but luckily we were and continue to be in a safe place about an hour and half outside of Christchurch. 2 Responses so far ». February 23, 2011 @ 7:04 am. What a relief, I read with horror the effects of the earthquake and my thoughts went out to you and your family. Its nice to know you are well and safe. Hi Em and Jen.

Our Current Time and Weather. Archive for February, 2011. One hell of a week…. February 24, 2011 · Filed under Uncategorized. Day 41; This week started on a high! After relaxing at the bach with Gran and Grandad for almost a week Catherine, Richard and Jon arrived on Friday morning! They had an equally soft landing as we did as we drove straight to Blake and Treena’s bach on the beach. Teary eyed at the Christchurch airport. Pretty but boring salad. Jack serenades the dinner. The bach turned party palace!

Down Under Abroad

Thursday, May 26, 2011. The next day was basically spent just getting to Celeste´s house. We managed to get to the Oaklawn mall in Guatemala city which was one of the nicest malls I have been to. I purchased a watch there for 800 q or $100. The currency exchange rate is fantastic for the US. There were a couple days of beautiful sight seeing. We saw Semuc Campey which was a river with beautiful waterfalls and lagoons. We also did a 1 k walk up a mountain to get a better view. Tuesday, May 10, 2011. There...

The Down Under Achiever | Hijinks, exploits and whimsical fuckery from an Australian abroad.

The Down Under Achiever. Hijinks, exploits and whimsical fuckery from an Australian abroad. An open letter to my local MP on the matter of Australian’s treatment of Asylum seekers. Dear Mr Feeny,. I’m one of your constituents here in the sunny electorate of Batman. I was always a Labour voter but lately I feel that Labour is losing their way. Why is your party contributing to the inhumane treatment of asylum seekers? You must know that future generations will look back on this with the same horror reserv...
