Because I knew the outcome, how it would make me feel: Stupid and small and ridiculous and why am I so afraid of what other people think? The latter being the most revealing about the “armor” I’ve been wearing, leading people to believe that I don’t care what they think or say about me when the opposite is true: I CARE VERY MUCH.
