The Screaming Bear: July 2010
http://thescreamingbear.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Written pictures of my life, from beer to music to sports, to grammar, to the environment. Thursday, July 1, 2010. I took the station wagon in for an oil change. At 201K miles it's chugging along pretty well. The l ast oil change. And after, a little browner on the edges:. The toppings were great, but the crust.not so much. Kaley said it tasted like a scone. I was thinking more like floury cardboard. Either way, not good eats. But edible on top so it wasn't totally wasted. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Screaming Bear: Is cricket the devil?
http://thescreamingbear.blogspot.com/2012/01/is-cricket-devil.html
Written pictures of my life, from beer to music to sports, to grammar, to the environment. Friday, January 13, 2012. Is cricket the devil? On a random whim (actually because I was reading something about how there are channels on youtube for anything including random sports that you can't see on TV) I watched some cricket youtube videos. I'm not entirely sure what is happening in all of them, but I did come across this gem of bizarre hilarity (at 9:15). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://thescreamingbear.blogspot.com/2010/09/some-more-culinary-exploits.html
Written pictures of my life, from beer to music to sports, to grammar, to the environment. Wednesday, September 8, 2010. Some more culinary exploits. First an update: That lasagna with pesto and such? Freakin' amazing. Like the best lasagna I've ever had. I've been rationing the leftovers because whenever I eat one piece I consider eating the rest of it. Here's the dough, which is blue cornmeal (cool color), water, shortening (usually lard), and spices- we used oregano, and lime zest. Seen Through a Glass.

Open the market only on the weekends and maybe one afternoon/evening a week. Only allow vendors to sell produce grown within a 100 miles of D...

The Screaming Bear: February 2010
http://thescreamingbear.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Written pictures of my life, from beer to music to sports, to grammar, to the environment. Saturday, February 27, 2010. Looks like the odds are about 2-1 for the Candians. Predictions? I had to get out of the house fairly early today and took the opportunity to go tour the Franconia. Brewery in McKinney. It starts at 11 on Saturdays, and McKinney's almost an hour away so it would've normally cut into my sleeping in, but today was a good day for it. All their beer is brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot.

Written pictures of my life, from beer to music to sports, to grammar, to the environment. Sunday, January 8, 2012. In the interest of expanding my beer horizons I decided to do a blind review of a beer from the fridge. As well as a Hop Head Red IPA. A- Pours brown with a lot of small carbonation bubbles- almo...

The Screaming Bear: January 2010
http://thescreamingbear.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Written pictures of my life, from beer to music to sports, to grammar, to the environment. Saturday, January 30, 2010. I went with my girlfriend to see the Dallas Symphony last night. I managed to get cheap student tickets for a bunch of concerts this year. We saw them play Mahler's First Symphony (which I'm currently playing in orchestra at school) last fall which was amazing. If you have the chance to see a good orchestra play this you should take it. The Journey of my music. It's insane how much memor...
