Keeping up with the fashion-knitting-research world of Amy Twigger Holroyd. Apprenticeships in the Making. What does ‘knitterly’ mean? 21 March, 2012. As I started to knit the samples, I realised that I would need to photograph them at each stage in order to show how they were done – otherwise I would have a pile of finished samples and just a pile of scrappy notes. My aim is that the techniques could be used by others, so the ‘how to’ information is really important. This entry was posted in knitwear.

September 24, 2012. In 1992, the highlight of my performing musical career was an appearance in the primary school production of Oliver! In the window, amongst crib books and music stands, were displayed a staggering, beautiful array of keyboards, organs, concertinas, harmonicas, melodicas and accordions. Ali knocked, and after a moment the door was unlocked and un-bolted. Inside the shop I was introduced to Michael, a tutor, and a lovely old student Hohner. Next post →. Stress and the Socia. Alongside the rather fierce (and hard to kill) cockroaches and angry centipedes, something else appears to have been lurking inside our Philadelphia wardrobe over the summer. I took out my favourite green jumper (or sweater, as we’re in the US) this morning to discover it looked more like something Rab C Nesbitt. Might be seen wearing: Yes – we have moths! An error has occurred; the feed is probably down. Try again later. Stress and the Socia.

July 31, 2012. Last weekend I had my first birthday in America. Away from the summer drizzle in the UK, I headed to the beach for the day with a few girlfriends. We drove 30 minutes from one side of the city of Boston to the other, our destination: Winthrop Beach. Winthrop Beach is open all year round from da...

Eat Drink. Walk. Do. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Newer posts →. Creatures that lurk in a Boston bathroom. July 21, 2012. Last night, I found this little guy hanging out on the bathroom wall. Not wanting to cause a scene and knowing that with all those legs he could outrun me, I let him be. Living in a new country means you get to see wildlife you wouldn’t normally see back home. Sadly Boris the Bug is the only photographic evidence I have of summertime wildlife in Boston. Ali and ...
