The Peacock Feathers Knit-along. January 22nd, 2006. 10:29 am - Peacock feathers. Here are a couple of closeups of my Peacock Feathers. I'm making it out of Knitpicks Shimmer. In Maple leaf. I'm currently in the middle of Row 194, which means that I'm about 60% of the way done. (You can calculate percentages of knitting done by dividing the number of the row you just finished by 25, and then squaring it. Note that this does not include the crochet chain edging.). Oh dear, am I late? The Peacock Feathers Knit-along. December 16th, 2005. 09:01 am - Oh dear, am I late? I just got my copy of the pattern a few days ago, so I started it and am about halfway through Chart 2. So far, I've made three modifications. The first thing I did was to fiddle with the decreases. Dorothy Siemens seems to want to use RLC as her left-slanting double decrease, rather than RCL. (For what the acronyms mean, see this entry. That stole has little rings in it, which includes a row of "yo, ...

One skein to rule them all. And in the darkness, bind them (off. )! I've come out of lurking (Mirking? To share some newly-found inspiration. I have recently acquired a copy of Lavold's Viking Knits. I purchased this on purpose to see what I could learn of it, to turn to knitted garments such as the folk of Rohan might wear. I'm also debating whether to take up the idea of combining naalbinding and knitting in the design of a garment. Has anyone else seen this book? What are your opinions on it? I don't ...

One skein to rule them all. And in the darkness, bind them (off. )! Tree of Gondor/Tengwar sweater. Three years ago, I knitted a sweater. For my father. He was really enthusiastic about it. Louet Gems Merino, worsted weight,. French blue. I originally bought 12 100-gram skeins; I think I've got almost three skeins left. I quite like t...
