My taste in music tends to be quite catholic and I enjoy most styles when I'm listening. When I'm playing and writing, I tend to be on the "it goes to eleven" side of loud. However, I also love mixing up genres. Ok I mentioned this one that was on the back burner. It's a piece that me and Gerry Callaghan have been working on. Gerry wrote the words and did the singing. We kinda like it. And it's called Two Times Shy. All the above were recordings I made for February Album Writing Month (FAWM).

This is where I shove stuff that doesn't fit neatly under amps or music. I made a new scratchplate for my Frankentele - from an old vinyl LP. Sadly, the original idea isn't mine. I decided to do it after spotting one on a Telecaster forum. Below are the before and after pics. The album I used was BBC Sound Effects Volume 13: Death and Horror, 1977. I've nothing against solid state amps. I just prefer valves. CBA: the cigar box amp. My awesome friend, Peter Murphy, has built me a cigar box guitar. In payment for the CBG, I offered to build him one of my valve amps and fold it up small enough to fit in a cigar box. The project blog can be found here. On the drawing board. Some sort of steampunk themed low wattage, high gain beast.

Cigar Box Amplifier
Monday, 17 March 2014. Smoke, mirrors and a very powerful wizard. The "wizard" in the title is the phenomenal Justin Johnson. Who's currently on his Smoke and Mirrors World Tour. And, as luck would have it, he's been staying with Mr Peter Blind Kiwi Murphy. So it was only a matter of time before Justin got his hands on the CBA and gave it a seeing to. ;-). Justin and Peter very kindly sent me this movie file and granted me permission to post it. Saturday, 19 October 2013. Found the treeware diagrams.
