Dessa skulpturer började som uttryck för att vilja omfamna en älskad som bor långt borta. De har sedan utvecklats till tankar om att omfamna, både i fysisk och psykisk bemärkelse, sig själv och andra. Insidan av skulpturerna är viktigare än utsidan. Sculptures in Stone, Bronze and Iron. Jill Höjeberg sculpts primarily in marble, alabaster, bronze and iron. She has a studio in Stockholm and works often in Carrara in Italy. The sculptures represent a series of themes that often interrelate. Thoughts about family matters, surroundings, the world, as well as my goals, joys and dreams, are sculpted into form. Through my thoughts the hard stone is transformed into soft, sensuous, nearly elastic forms that contain secrets within.

Det börjar med en skiss, på papper, i vax eller kanske bara i tanken. Men vinkelslip skär jag ut den grova formen ur stenen. När jag skapat den grundläggande formen jämnar jag ut ojämnheterna med lufthammare och handredskap. Sedan sandar. Jag formen slät, med maskin och för hand tills den känns len som silke.
