My aforementioned dilemma i...

http://writeandgripe.livejournal.com/41649.html
Aug 24th, 2014 at 5:30 PM. Building Backstory - Write & Gripe
http://writeandgripe.livejournal.com/42406.html
Nov 16th, 2014 at 3:16 PM. I am revisiting a few stories to expand on details, and the process got me wondering how the rest of you. Go about hinting at the history of your characters without a backlog of exposition. What character-building devices do you use? How do you tell your readers all those little details that build a real and believable character, without slowing the pace of your plot down? How much is enough? How much is too much backstory? 12 comments Leave a comment. How's that for convoluted?

Game of Thrones - 4.08 - The Mountain and the Viper. Oh, oh, Oberyn! My recap of the episode is up. Posted on Jun. 2nd, 2014 at 02:26 pm. I'm glad I spoilered myself for that final scene. I knew when to stop watching. Posted on Jun. 2nd, 2014 08:02 pm (UTC). I had to go into the office today to do grief counseling for my colleague/GoT-watching buddy. He couldn't believe they did that, and he is traumatized by the eye scene. Posted on Jun. 2nd, 2014 09:31 pm (UTC). Game of Thrones recaps.

Mar 13th, 2015 at 5:32 PM. Hello my writerly friends! I saw this post on tumblr today, and it really connected with my thoughts on the writing process. Though the rush of creative flow is amazing, day-to-day writing can be a difficult, thankless process. Our little corner of twitter / tumblr / LJ has a pretty awesome support system. Nonetheless, I sense there’s been some frustrations building for many of you. Today I thought we’d do a little two-part event. First – let’s reconnect:. What are you writing?
