Galapagos Trip, Day 2. June 25, 2009. The hike was labeled as "difficult" and for someone out of shape like I am, it was a hard hike. Luckily there was no climbing or anything like that- instead there was a lot of stepping over rocks on a very rocky trail. This hike took place at Punta Suarez on Espanola Island. Galapagos Trip, Day 4. Saturday morning we didn't have to get up too early. The ship offered 3, 4, and 7 day cruises, and some people were getting off and new people getting on. The crew organized an early outing for the people leaving, and those of us who were staying got to sleep a whole extra hour. Nice! Billy Wong, one of our pals whom we met on the cruise. Galapagos Trip, Day 7. Tuesday morning we went to North Seymour island, one of the nesting places for the blue footed boobies and the frigate birds. While I had seen frigate birds flying overhead at various times, I hadn't been able to get a photo of them. I was hoping this would be an opportunity to actually get some pictures. When we landed on North Seymour island, a swallow-tailed gull greeted us by peeping loudly at us as we left the Zodiac and climbed a little ways up the lava rocks to the trail.
