About Drakiana village

Rest and eat in a deep nature! In 1951 Drakiana was governed by Platanias Parish council situated in the county of Kydonia and had 24 permanent residents. Slowly the village began the decline and was soon abandoned and derelict. Today Drakiana is governed by the Prefecture of Platanias which remains in the county of Kydonia and has only one permanent residence. Since the year 2000, the Mavromatis family have returned to their roots and built their family home and restaurant on their ancestor’s land.

Our restaurant serves mainly traditional Greek foods many from recipes that were provided from our grandparents but if there are any special diet requests or dishes not listed on our menu we can cater for them as long as we are given good notice in advance. Drakania is no exception to Crete's beauty and captures all the above. It is just a 30 minute walk from Platanias or 5 minute drive.

Jeden název, moře nápadů. Na podzim máme drakiádu, stěžejní akci s nějvětším zájmem i návštěvností. Nejsou to obyčejné všední akce, jsou to drakiády v duchy doby, drakiády naplněné krásnými zážitky a špatným počasím. V zimě se potom vydáváme po stopách Yettiových.
