Such Majesty 2: Yellowstone. A certain acute sense of sight is developed when hours are spent carving the scenery for wildlife. The slightest movement, or simply anything remotely brown triggers it. This sense served me well, but after the trip it has become something of an annoyance. Even on the road back from WY, my eyes dashed back and fourth every few seconds focusing on the humdrum sights of pastured cows, horses, and tree trunks. Rodents with fat tails. Rodents with skinny tails. Other Birds of Prey.

The Current State of Affairs. Ours has become a world of hand- helds. Americans have a portable device for everything (in some cases everything in one). Look around your public bus, or metro train. You'll see music players the size of your thumb, phones with cameras, keyboards, or on rare occasions phones that are nothing but phones. To name a few. But now what do we have to complement our devices? Is the solution throwing out everything in the refrigerator. Containing High Fructose Corn Syrup?

Post-Boulder Grievance #2 and #3. Number 2: I have to drive to do anything here. $67 to fill the tank. In Boulder I could've bought a monthly bus pass for less than that (if I'd had to, which I didn't cause I'm sly like that). Granted, I wouldn't have burned through a tank so quickly if I hadn't listened to all those audiobooks while driving. They both distracted me, making me miss turns and have to backtrack, and encouraged me to "take the long way home" (Supertramp) so I could finish a chapter.

Such Majesty 1: Grand Tetons. I'm back in Boulder for the time being, so now I can in good conscience continue this blog. Last week I was able to take a week long trip with my parents through Wyoming and South Dakota, stopping at a number of parks and monuments along the way, so here it is! My three part coverage of the trip. Anyway, we made our way along the scenic byways that parallel the mountain range, stopping along the way to take pictures. Then, just outside of Moose Junction, we saw a Moose!
