Thursday, September 10, 2009. The last year of Middle School. I am officially into the 8th day of 8th grade with my youngest son who is on the Autism Spectrum and already the school has made it a miserable thing to go through. The 7th day started with him being informed that his new aide was being replaced. I was informed of it much later in the day when I was told that he was upset with the change because he liked the aide that had been assigned to him. It was all very successful! He had a great 7 days!

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Finding the right mix . This is Nicks first summer "home". Since he was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 3 he has been "schooled" in one way or the other year round. We have done Autism pre-school programs . in house therapy . speech therapy . summer day camps etc. Once he started public school he would generally have one week off and then right back into a summer program of some sort. Sunday, January 18, 2009. Soo my sister and her new boyfriend (need a new title after the age of 40! Are going somewhere "Tropical" at the end of this month. Sure I am in envy of them. I want to go too! I promise not to bother them I will just hang out at the pool while the cabana boys grab me drinks. They know how much I love sunshine especially in January, so they decided to ask me to be part of the experience. This is not the real Pearl. Thursday, March 20, 2008. I am seeing a light at the end of the legal hellish tunnel. We were notified that the appeal with the state for my son's services will be held on April 1st. I found that very appropriate somehow ;). Our lawyer for the case we have against the school district called yesterday and I have to go sign the settlement papers for that on Monday. The only issue now left hanging in the wind is if our insurance company will cover the IGF-1 medications that my son will need for growth.

Viernes, 13 de enero de 2017. Hoy es uno de esos días en los que pienso en por qué me metí a esta carrera. Acabo de salir de un examen (otro más) y vuelve esa sensación de "lo que me llevo estudiando durante un mes no me ha servido para nada". Me siento como si no fueran suficientes todas las horas que le brindo a la Medicina, como si no sirvieran de nada, porque luego salgo del examen sintiéndome una inútil. Me jode sentirme así, porque me encanta la carrera,. Ojalá cualquier tiempo futuro sea mejor.
