And the Pilcrow: The Plot of Jupiter Ascending Explained
http://sffiction.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-plot-of-jupiter-ascending-explained.html
Sarah Frost, author. May 13, 2015. The Plot of Jupiter Ascending Explained. It seems that a lot of people are having trouble understanding the plot of Jupiter Ascending. For those people, I have written this summary. Scary Evil wants Jupiter to be killed so that she can’t claim her inheritance. Sexy Evil wants to marry Jupiter and then kill her, so he can claim her inheritance. Again, the inheritance in question is the Earth. At this point, Scary Evil’s thugs catch up with them. However, Simple...Simple ...

And the Pilcrow: Kansas Gothic
http://sffiction.blogspot.com/2015/05/kansas-gothic.html
Sarah Frost, author. May 08, 2015. The weatherman says that it will be 60 degrees today with a chance of wildfire. Tomorrow, flash floods. The coyotes are getting bolder. They come into town. They sit in your yard at night and watch your family as they eat dinner in the warm glow of your house. The coyote’s eyes glow, too, but with a different light. You learn not to finish the ends of your words. You stare into the distance. Maybe if you don’t finish your sentence, nothing else will happen. As you drive...

And the Pilcrow: Who Polices Supernatural London?
http://sffiction.blogspot.com/2014/10/who-polices-supernatural-london.html
Sarah Frost, author. October 27, 2014. Who Polices Supernatural London? I have decided - and I'm sure I'm not the first - that there is a genre of books specifically about secret British government agencies who deal with terrifying supernatural threats. I think books like these are best characterized as a sub-genre of urban fantasy. I find them strangely compelling. Let's start with Charles Stross and his Laundry Files. Beginning with The Atrocity Archives. Printed on it. Who's LJ? Those of you who pick ...

And the Pilcrow: Ugly Fish, Tasty Fish, Endangered Fish
http://sffiction.blogspot.com/2013/06/ugly-fish-tasty-fish-endangered-fish.html
Sarah Frost, author. June 21, 2013. Ugly Fish, Tasty Fish, Endangered Fish. This is a yellowfin tuna. And this is a Chilean sea bass. And I wish that they were more charismatic. Fish, in general, are fairly uncharismatic. It's the staring eyes and the cold blood, I think. And the general lack of fluffiness. A lot of fish are profoundly endangered, and I am distressed by how few people seem to care. You can't radio-collar a tuna. There are ways to track fast-swimming, deep-water fishes, but they're di...

And the Pilcrow: Life in Oakland
http://sffiction.blogspot.com/2015/07/life-in-oakland.html
Sarah Frost, author. July 05, 2015. At 8:30 in the morning, I am walking to the train station. A flock of pigeons are resting on a steeply-sloping roof across the street from the Red Cross building. More pigeons are crammed on the metal arch of a street light. Only one street light is inhabited; the rest are empty. Only one roof has pigeons. Why this place? I don't see them the next day, but the day after that, they are back. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cloudmover: The art of Mark Evans.

The Creative Life: Creatively Speaking: Too Many Costumes, Too Few Events
http://chippy-thelifeofwriting.blogspot.com/2015/05/creatively-speaking-too-many-costumes.html
Welcome to the blog formerly known as The Life Of Writing. Sunday, 3 May 2015. Creatively Speaking: Too Many Costumes, Too Few Events. So, as ever writing wise, this was more of The Kick Ass Writer. And the Snowflake Method. So no change there then. With regards to other creative outputs I have cross stitched, doodled, sewn some more of my dress and done some research for possible cosplays. From the video game Alice: Madness Returns. The first I decided I wanted to create was Grell Sutcliff. But I don't ...

http://chippy-thelifeofwriting.blogspot.com/2015/05/creatively-speaking-not-lot-to-report.html
Welcome to the blog formerly known as The Life Of Writing. Sunday, 17 May 2015. Creatively Speaking: Not A Lot To Report. Now don't let the title fool you in to thinking I've fallen off the creative wagon because I haven't. I have still been creative every day this week. And writing wise it has once again been The Kick Ass Writer. Although I'm coming to the end of The Kick Ass Writer so I'll be changing my writing reading material soon). So not a particularly busy week but a creative one non the less.
