But… Will There Be Cake? Laquo; 2 – 8 – 12 – 32. Where Do You Want Your Kids to Grow Up? June 18, 2014 by Liz. Just about 13lbs, according to my home scale. We finally have a baby who sleeps through the night! First trip to the zoo and Grant’s Farm. First time meeting his aunt and some of his cousins. Attended his first birthday party (his brother’s). Remember when I said he hated diaper changes? Um, not being held? What I’m Thankful For:. Sleeping through the night! What I’m Looking Forward To:. Still w...

Saturday, June 29, 2013. SU'13 NJ Trip - First Few Days. We arrived in New Jersey on June 13 after 22 hours of driving from Wisconsin. It was a long, tiring trip but the kids and I settled right in and starting enjoying our vacation. It was a bit cold our first day but Paeton and Evan insisted on cleaning the pool and playing outside. The next day it warmed up enough for Paeton at least. I think the temp was 66 degrees. My sister Michelle joined us over the weekend. Bike ride with Granpa Marx. Walking do...

Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Just a few of my faves :). Special Thanks to Jodi's parents for watching our crew this weekend so we could getaway and enjoy our 6th wedding anniversary. The kids had a great time! Looking forward to baby Gus (grandchild #8) joining us any day now! Wednesday, May 22, 2013. The birthday girl in our backyard before leaving for the farm. Logan enjoyed sitting on the front porch of the cabin watching all of Paeton's friends arrive. A few poses with Mom and Dad. Paeton LOVED the bunnies.

Laquo; Easter at Nana & Nonno’s. May 2, 2015 by thelowerfamily. Well, that is what happens when we arrive at school and Daddy whips out his umbrella but the kids don’t have their own new umbrellas that we got for Christmas. We have fits. Instead of running into school quickly to avoid the rain, we shuffle as slowly as possible pouting the entire time about the fact that we didn’t bring our umbrellas. Lesson learned. We know who is in charge. So for the next rainstorm, this ensued. Well, using the umbrella.

Archive for February, 2015. On February 15, 2015 Leave a Comment. Since the kids have been mobile, we have cut down our trip-taking considerably. Trips because more stressful for us than fun and relaxing. Now that the kids are getting a little bit older and slightly more independent, we’re hoping we can stretch our wings a little bit and pick things back up! This fall, John decided to run the Disney marathon. It gave him a fun race to train for and a fun trip for the rest of us to look forward to! And we...

Archive for April, 2015. On April 30, 2015 Leave a Comment. We continued our annual tradition to go to the St. Daniel’s Easter Egg hunt. It’s busy but not overwhelmingly so. It’s very easy to keep tabs on the kids – and it’s not out of control with the candy. (OK, it’s still too much candy.). Jamie ready to get started. Lizzie waiting to get started. Lizzie on the hunt. Jamie on the hunt. Eager to open the eggs. Jamie with his basket of eggs. Lizzie finding an egg. Thanks for a super fun hunt! It always ...

It’s been mostly Jamie getting invited and sometimes their parents encourage Lizzie to come too! Enjoying a birthday party with Noah and Owen. Parties these days for the kids at daycare are typically at a place. We’ve been to places with gymnastics equipment, bounce houses and video games (like Chuck E. Cheese). Enjoying a birthday party with the Jabbens. Lizzie playing with the cars.

Archive for November, 2014. Trick or Treat – Anna and Olaf edition. On November 16, 2014 Leave a Comment. I started conversations early this year about how we would dress up for Halloween. I had a feeling that there might be some mind-changing and I have no patience for that! I was also a little stressed out that we would wait too long and not be able to find the costumes that the kids wanted! Olaf showing off his costume. Here are the kids trick-or-treating at the O’Brien house. Trying to stay warm.

Archive for August, 2014. Daddy and Jamie date. On August 29, 2014 Leave a Comment. John has been talking about visiting the air show for the past year. He decided to go to the lakefront for the dress rehearsal (on the Friday of the weekend) when it isn’t as crowded to enjoy the show! Then he thought Jamie would really enjoy it and they decided to make a day of it! They took the train. Had pancakes at the Girl and the Goat. They took a bus and a train and checked out Millennium Park. A visit to Ohio.
