Drawn To You: October 2010
http://drawntoyou.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
This is where I'll be posting my submissions to The Illustration Friday site as well as my "experimental" art. Thursday, October 14, 2010. Here's the painted up Back Beat Betty. This first version is straight watercolor and gouache. This one was manipulated a bit with Photoshop. I added two layers. One filled with purple in the dark areas and set to multiply with a 70 percent opacity. It gives it a better feeling of her being in a spotlight up on stage. Notice she doesn't have any whiskers or any markings.

This is where I'll be posting my submissions to The Illustration Friday site as well as my "experimental" art. Friday, January 11, 2013. Well it's a new year and time to kick it in gear. I've decided to challenge myself this year by picking a subject for each month and posting 13 images on the 13th day of the month. This month I am posting 13 portraits from a freelance job that I finished in December of last year. They were created in Adobe Illustrator CS2. Not sure what I'll be posting for February.

This is where I'll be posting my submissions to The Illustration Friday site as well as my "experimental" art. Saturday, September 10, 2011. This is the window art that I painted for Locks of Fun in Valparaiso Indiana. They asked me to combine two of the drawings that I sent them. If you find yourself downtown in Valpo go take a look at it in person. Locks of Love is on Lincolnway across from the Centier bank. My info can be found at my website www.robertsnyderillustrates.com. Close up of the scarecrow.

Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff: May 2006
http://dont-sweat.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff. This is meant to be a portfolio of sorts. It will be where I post images of decorative paintings, sculptures and objects. Wednesday, May 03, 2006. These are my latest experiment in trying new directions in painting. They're made of pine, particle board, and MDF. The characters are cut from MDF on my scroll saw and sanded a bit. Then everything is painted with acrylics. Posted by Robert Snyder at 7:28 PM. Here's the newest bird painting. He's a Shriner bird with a heart.
Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff: IF - Rescue
http://dont-sweat.blogspot.com/2010/03/if-rescue.html
Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff. This is meant to be a portfolio of sorts. It will be where I post images of decorative paintings, sculptures and objects. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. This is what was inspired by this weeks IF word - Rescue. The mermaid girl is rescuing the sea turtle from a fishing net. I will be working this up to a finished illustration. It will probably take more than a week though because I am working up several rough ideas to select from to take to finished art. Indiana, United States.
Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff: April 2006

Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff. This is meant to be a portfolio of sorts. It will be where I post images of decorative paintings, sculptures and objects. Wednesday, April 19, 2006. I was wandering through Michaels Craft store a while back and found these blank hang tags on sale so I thought I'd get them and see if I could do anything with them. They measure about 2" by 5". I colored them with pen and marker - some have colored pencil on top of the marker. These are the results. Let me know what you think.
Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff: September 2008

Don't Sweat the Cute Stuff. This is meant to be a portfolio of sorts. It will be where I post images of decorative paintings, sculptures and objects. Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The word of the week at IF is "Clique.". When I hear the word I think of a switch being pulled or a button being pushed, not a specific group of people. Since the word is clique and no click my mind started thinking of French buttons being pushed and French switches being pulled. I'll be coloring this one up in the future.

So check it out if you're interested and/or tell some one who has an e reader and either has kids who like funny stories or like funny stories themselves. It's on Barnes and Noble here.

The Naked Illustrator: November 2010
http://nakedillustrator.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
The twists and turns of restarting an illustration career. This site is Kid Clean and safe for viewing by anyone. Saturday, November 20, 2010. Lately when I do art for myself it's with traditional media. Watercolor, gouache, pen and ink or pencil. I like having a finished piece of art to look at and hold. It's a nice feeling of accomplishment. Most of my client work ends up being digital, even if it starts out being drawn traditionally. Next she wants to see a girl pirate, so I'll post her in the future.
