Saturday, April 3, 2010. Haiti is no place for egos, particularly those of relief workers. The disaster is so clearly not about us. I went down to help, and I did, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. Did it make a difference? Yes, about as much difference as a single raindrop in a torrent. Here are a few photos from my trek to the Everest Base Camp. One is of the boy on the top of Kala Patar, a minor peak in Himalaya terms, about 18,000 feet. It was cold but you see I made it with my buddy Dendee, a stud of a twenty year old Sherpa. Prayer flags surround us at the top. Hardest thing I ever did, only 17,500 feet. Bud's Big Bait Blog.
