http://silver-blades.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Musings of an Adult Figure Skater. Friday, April 23, 2010. Hubby then helped me out and changed the loudness of the beginning so that it could be heard in the rink. It is a piano piece that starts out softly which gets totally lost over a rink PA. I still haven’t heard this latest cut and am hoping that it will be fine. Saturday, April 17, 2010. What is interval training you ask? Ah ha Pick a cardio. Sport; cycling, jumping rope, running or, in my case, rowing machine (personal fav. But my breathing take...

Silver Blades: February 2012
http://silver-blades.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Musings of an Adult Figure Skater. Monday, February 6, 2012. I now have confirmation that I do indeed have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I've seen two specialists, one of whom is world famous, and they both confirmed the diagnosis. Bummer. I'm still stuck in the house and occasionally in bed. I use a walker for short distance walking and a wheelchair for anything over 50 feet. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I took lessons as a kid and passed all twelve Basic Skills tests and my preliminary figure test. I wa...

Silver Blades: Diagnosis
http://silver-blades.blogspot.com/2011/01/diagnosis.html
Musings of an Adult Figure Skater. Sunday, January 2, 2011. Well it is all but confirmed I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. And an illness narrative about living with CFS. I still hope that someday I will return to the ice even if it only to do school figures again. I still love skating and miss it horribly. I did get to see both the local Christmas ice show and the Haydenettes skate in the Lexington ice show. It was great fun but I slept for hours afterwards. February 3, 2012 at 6:15 PM. My Mum and Dad me...

Silver Blades: January 2010
http://silver-blades.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Musings of an Adult Figure Skater. Saturday, January 30, 2010. A Great Skating Day. I have been on the ice twice since my last blog. I have tried spinning. Since I had my left blade moved I wasn't sure how this would go. I have a mixed report. I seem to have my scratch spins back. They are occasionally. Centered and very fast and long. I haven't been able to do a decent camel since the change but this has always been my least consistent. Spins in the correct position. I was SO Happy! If I don't have to w...

http://ahhskating.livejournal.com/1134.html
Mandis Old Skating Blog. Mandis Figure Skating Journal. An Adult Skater in Denver. Tests Im Working On. 10 October 2006 @ 07:05 pm. Just as the title states - this was a great practice. I went to the Tuesday afternoon session so it was relatively uncrowded and I was able to do a lot of field move stuff and there was plenty of room for jumps. Spins were really nice today! That was fun :).

Last night I fell on a BO3 and they looked in my direction then looked at each other and started giggling. I really felt like going over there and giving them a piece of my mind. But instead, I let it get to me and had a crappy practice. I can't stand them! I had two that had about FOUR (! 4 gold medals Earn your medal.

http://silver-blades.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Musings of an Adult Figure Skater. Saturday, August 21, 2010. This is going to be my last post to this blog for a while. Whatever bugs have invaded my body have taken up residence. Silver Blades: November 2009
http://silver-blades.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Musings of an Adult Figure Skater. Saturday, November 28, 2009. While I was in Lake Placid for Skate America, I also got in some ice time of my own. I managed to squeeze in a little over three hours of practice but the real bonus was the half hour lesson. I love the coach I see up there. We are so on the same wavelength. We actually trained together as kids growing. And Toe Loop; she fixed my change edge spiral and we worked on the change edge patch figure. Scott Hamilton and Evan Lysacek. He is a cutie!

Ice 'n' Easy: May 2009
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2009. It's been rather a busy time the last few weeks - hopefully things will settle down and I can start posting a little more regularly again. I didn't have a lesson two weeks ago anyway, as my poor coach had some nasty tummy bug on her return from the USA, so only last weeks lesson to report! This especially applies to the Novice Foxtrot - such a simple dance, but so hard to get right, if you know what I mean! All very exciting :) This is the progress so far - he is rather cute I thin...

Ice 'n' Easy: September 2008
http://iceneasy.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 25, 2008. Spinning direction . . . inconclusive. Lots of spinning in both directions now every time I skate, so we can work it out. At the moment it does feel very odd to spin "leftie" but that's probably because I've never gone that way before on skates! My lessons have now been lengthened, so we can fit even more stuff in. Level 2 mohawk exercise:. After the Terror(mo)hawks, she asked if I was going to write nasty things about her on my blog. Never :). Backward Cross in fronts:.
