Friday, December 9, 2011. This morning the lake looked m. Agical. The fog hung low around Madeline Island, you can see it in the distance, heavy and clinging to the shore. The sun was so bright I couldn't see the image on my camera screen. I took lots of photos and got a few decent enough to share. The birds were taking refuge from the below zero wind. Chills, though a few were bobbing around on the waves. It's not sailing season but the lake is just as beautiful. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Put the plug in. Optimism: Thinking that somehow 3 boats that average 35 years of age would be almost ready to go in the water in the spring without much work. Saturday, May 28, 2011. Boats in the Water - part 2. Our new boat, Dragonfly, went in this past week. She was stored on a cradle all winter but the process for putting her in was a bit different than for Egret. They back a trailer up to the boat. The trailer has hydraulic "arms" that lift the boat up off the cradle. Then they just pull the trailer out with the boat resting on it. The boat is pulled down to the water. It's a bizarre experience to be walking down the road with the boat.

Saturday, July 10, 2010. Out in the Apostle Islands. I finally took some picture from some of this year’s trips. The water is warm enough to swim now and the kids have been in much of the day on our youth group overnights. The day trips are going great and lots of swimming has been done on our Island Landing Excursion, too. The Afternoon Sail has been a fantastic way to cool off this week! Exploring the rock outcrops. The Ranch looking Northwest to Boreas Pass. Well after 18 Months it's done except for a little cleanup this spring. New home office of Broadband Media Engineering, Inc. A little snow fence 1909. Ranch is in the background left. Wildlife and Cattle is the ranches livelyhood. Large herds of Deer and Elk come to water on the ranches 149 acre wetland. Fox, Coyotes, Badgers are often seen, as are a number of Hawks and water birds. Bear, and mountian lion are in near by National Forest.

Our ranch became a reality in 2005 after my late mother, Maria, purchased the 34 acres with main home, cabin and two other buildings. Mother and I sat on the front porch that first day and we pondered the peaceful landscape. We looked at each other and almost in unison said, This is a dream come true.
