Windy Possibilities: NXNA Garden Tour
http://windypossibilities.blogspot.com/2015/05/nxna-garden-tour.html
Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. The Garden Tour was a BIG success! I had 75 people come by to look at my garden and they all seemed to love my native Texas garden. I got to give advice about plant selection, soil conditions, and bed preparation to lots of people. People appreciated that I had labeled my plants with both common and scientific names. Mealy blue sage Salvia farinacea. I even got to explain the difference between my 3 species of Echinacea to some people!

Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Hill Country Ride for AIDS. First of all, THANK YOU to everyone who donated so that I could ride! I had a great time, but more importantly, many people in the Austin area will get the help they need because of your generous donations! I had originally planned to ride 100 miles with Shayla and Carol, but Shayla got injured and was unable to ride, so it was just Carol and I, it would be her first 100 mile ride ever-exciting! Carol and I...

Windy Possibilities: December 2012
http://windypossibilities.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Run for the Water. A late and super short (for me) race report. I wanted to do one since I actually had a fantastic run. Linda and I got to the start fairly early and it was cold! I was wearing a ton of clothes, but I'd much rather be too warm than too cold. We found Monica and the 3 of us started together. We chatted and ran along at about a 10:30 pace, fast for me! But we were close to the finish and I was close to coming in unde...

Windy Possibilities: Rookie Triathlon 2015
http://windypossibilities.blogspot.com/2015/05/rookie-triathlon-2015.html
Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Wednesday, May 6, 2015. The Rookie was my first tri of the season and the first of the 4 race entries I won from Austin Fitness Rentals. I wasn't at all stressed about this race, just excited for a morning of fun and friends! Tri Zones pre- race. photo credit: Melissa Dubbick. Finished with the super short swim! Photo credit: Melissa Dubbick. After I finished I was hanging out with Linda and Laura and they asked me if Eva had finished yet. I said "Ha! She fi...

Windy Possibilities: June 2012
http://windypossibilities.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Monday, June 25, 2012. Jeff and I scouted some potential bike routes on the way out, not a lot of luck, the "best" looking road was mostly gravel and had gates across it! Gate that I opened (and closed) so we could drive on the county road. Del and I SUPing. Jeff at a creek crossing. Waiting for the start. I had never done a trail race before and very little trail running. So my only goal was to not get hurt! Pretty flowers, and that's Mandy behind me. I loo...

Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. NXNA Austin Garden Tour. Our garden is going to be on a Garden Tour! The NXNA Garden and Artisan Tour. Will be May 2nd from 10am to 4pm. I'm excited to share my garden and my love of native plants with visitors that day and I hope I'll be able to inspire more people to get rid of their non-native grass and plant Texas natives. Monarch butterfly on Blackfoot Daisy, October 2014. A few of my favorite plants in the gardens:. I don'...

Windy Possibilities: August 2013
http://windypossibilities.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Friday, August 2, 2013. Kitchen before beginning demo. Not much to say about demo, it's messy, but fairly easy, except for breathing in all that dust which makes my allergies go crazy. So mostly just pictures of demo. We worked all this week, so demo went slowly, just a few hours each evening. End of demo day 1, Katie supervising. End of Day 2 demo. They added a nice splash of color to the kitchen, hopefully the new backsplash will add color in a couple weeks.

Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Monday, April 9, 2012. Easter Hill Country Tour. She and Keith had it changed in less than 5 minutes, but while we were waiting Betsy and David came riding by and stopped to say hi. Then as we were getting ready to start again, a group was riding towards us, it was our 33 milers! They thought it was hilarious that we had gotten up so early to get a head start and by mile 2 they had caught us anyway! Hey Heather, how's it going? How have you been? I was a lit...

Windy Possibilities: July 2014
http://windypossibilities.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Monday, July 14, 2014. Couples Tri 2014 Race Report. But race morning came and I felt more excited than nervous. I got out to Decker early, set up transition and hung out with friends, who all seemed happy to see that I was racing. Vanessa and I pre-race. Photo by Tom Marek. I really liked the time trial start more than I thought I would, it really did make for a MUCH less congested swim start and I think the bike course was less crowded too. I hadn't ridden...

Anything is possible in triathlon and in life. Monday, August 6, 2012. Jack's Generic Tri 2012. And when they're turning 35- going into a new age group, I thought it might never happen again, so I definitely wanted to do it! Sunrise at the ski ranch. I've done Jack's twice before, in 2010 and 2009. When I raced in 2009, it was actually a cool day in August, I don't think it got above 80 all day! Mohamed even gave me a Newton Running visor for my birthday! Goats on the island. My legs felt tired when I tr...

Laughing, Loving, Living.... and Dreaming Bigger
Laughing, Loving, Living. and Dreaming Bigger. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. These are in the opposite order than I wanted. But I don't have the patience to rearrange them. So here we go, from most recent to the beginning of summer, basically, but not totally in order. Sun kissed kids, loving their dog. Learning to play games on the computer. Laying on the beach in Duluth. Fishing with Grandad at Lily Lake on a windy cold day. Lake Superior with Grandma Nan. Links to this post. Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Dream It
We’ve been on cruises before but never on DCL. A few friends had told us about DCL and what a great time they had. There was a last minute promo on the Disney Dream, so we decided to jump on aboard since we were in Orlando. That’s what impromptu road trips are about right? DCL was fantastic and the level of service was unparallel to the other boats we’ve been on. There were so many activities for kids which is the most important for us. The only downside I really… read more. South of the Border.

Little Girl, Big Dreams
Here we are running a muck on the big piano, right here in the big apple. Sorry Perth, you just do not cut it. This is what dreams are made of. New York, New York. I've developed quite a crush. It was always number one on my "things-i-can't-wait-for" list. Three days into our time here, the Big City has lived up to every one of my expectations, and is well on its way to stealing my heart. I mean, seriously, who could resist? I have started to chip away at my jetlag with a decent sleep last night. Pro...
