Saturday, 27 March 2010. And the valleys shall ring! I've just heard today that I've been selected to sing at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen. Highly over-excited about this now, not to say more than a little nervous. However, I have a repertoire, I have a voice. Thursday, 5 May 2011. That's what I used to advocate as part of my day job and yet it's rare I push myself hard on the learning front these days. The most learning I tend to do is song words! However, I got the opportunity to go on a 2-week training course for an Associate Diploma in Performing Arts teaching in April, and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss. Friday, 18 February 2011. And for my next trick. So life at Becta is done and dusted. It had to come sooner or later. I'm actually not missing it one bit so far, which I'm taking as a very good sign that I was ready to leave. I don't really have time to miss it, to be honest, as I'm not exactly languishing in a life of leisure. No sooner had I finished, than I found myself working as a supply woodwind and vocal teacher, a singing teacher in a Stagecoach theatre school. I am happy. Busy, but happy.

Tuesday, 4 May 2010. Can we dig it? We're digging the patio out and replacing it with a new one so Mike spent a happy couple of days last week digging it all out (and down 6 inches). Monday, 5 April 2010. The anatomy of an Easter bonnet. As it's the last time I'm likely to make one, I decided to put a bit of effort into Number Two Son's Easter hat this year. In the end we all did a bit - even Mike painted egg-box daffodils. I feel that I should share the process - and the pain. First, make a top hat (far too much swearing and gnashing of teeth involved to take any photos of this but take my word for it that it was an A4 paper box beforehand). Paint it brown. Monday, 4 July 2011. Llangollen - it's easy for you to say! I'm off to the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod. Again this week. Hoping to edge up the placings from my 5th spot last year.
