From Wingman to Witching Hour: Warning: Don't Try This @ Home!

http://dressagewannabes.blogspot.com/2013/04/warning-dont-try-this-home.html

From Wingman to Witching Hour. Monday, April 22, 2013. Warning: Don't Try This @ Home! Lately, I have been having many wildlife encounters. Just a few weeks ago, I was crouched on my screened-in porch wearing my giant blue leather "falconry" gloves, clutching a phone in one ear, holding an economy-sized Splenda box in the other, staring intently at a tiny little bird that my cat had had in her mouth for about 6 seconds, and whispering to my friend, "Should I poke it? Do you think it's okay? Oh, yes I did.

Such a goofball. ;-) I love it. Links to this post. Saturday, February 4, 2012. And Now For Something Completely Different. This is MY blog! Yes, it has been a shockingly long time since my poor steed has been featured on his own blog. He reminds me frequently that his public requests, nay (neigh? http://dressagewannabes.blogspot.com/2013/03/out-of-woods.html

From Wingman to Witching Hour. Monday, March 18, 2013. Out of The Woods. So thankful that this boy is still just fine. Knocks on wood* Well, I don't have any exciting updates yet, but fortunately I have a good update after we had a minor scare last week. Since Salem didn't seem to be in any distress, I decided to just give him some banamine and take him out for some hand-grazing and see how he did.. I love how these little green seed things get stuck on his muzzle. :-). On Friday morning, Dr. F call...

From Wingman to Witching Hour: October 2012

http://dressagewannabes.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

From Wingman to Witching Hour. Saturday, October 20, 2012. Salem seems less than thrilled with it :-/. Shown here with my Stubben copper oval-mouth boucher bit. I don't think it's particularly flattering on Salem's face, but. I'm not worried about that- if it makes him softer and happier, it could be. Semi)hideous and I wouldn't care. Of course, Salem is more interested in his grain bin. I also tried it on him with a Korsteel plastic mullen eggbutt bit. Oh, crap.". Dressage girth: Not yet. His weight on ...

Adventures with Super Sam: And we're back!

http://adventureswithsupersam.blogspot.com/2012/08/and-were-back.html

The blog of a worry wort owner and her wonderful horse Sam. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. And we are back! Sam and I had a holiday over the winter break. It was lovely but I also eventually did miss riding. Sam met a lovely man, Dr Rob Willis. Sam's tootsies are getting better, back to landing heel toe and he is much more sounder. My farrier comes back from over seas next week so we can get back on track. They just needed to drop her price by say $8000! I guess we can't save them all! Looking good for 24!

http://adventureswithsupersam.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

The blog of a worry wort owner and her wonderful horse Sam. Friday, June 22, 2012. He was like that in all four hooves at the toe. The previous farrier had changed Sam's gait so badly he had changed it so Sam was landing toe first! Sam didn't show any lameness between both shoeings only a slight shortness of stride. I thought this may have been due to the fact that it was getting colder and that he was stiffening up. The importance of a good farrier, no hoof no horse! Friday, June 15, 2012. Yep they thou...

The blog of a worry wort owner and her wonderful horse Sam. Monday, October 1, 2012. Cleveland Bay, I have always loved the breed but never thought I would have the opportunity to own one. I am lucky to have a Cleveland Bay stud locally and I visited them about 4 years ago, where I met and fell in love with a little yearling by the name of David. The stud is now closing down and all youngsters, broodmares and stallions are for sale. His legs forgot to grow but the rest of him didn't! There were other bea...

The blog of a worry wort owner and her wonderful horse Sam. Monday, October 31, 2011. Hope you are all ok, and Warm sunny days. I hope you are all ok. I heard on the news about a terrible snowstorm. Power cut, freezing temperatures. So hope you all are staying warm and so are all your fluffy pals! Flies are starting to buzz lazily around, mosquitoes. Adventures with Super Sam: January 2012

http://adventureswithsupersam.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

The blog of a worry wort owner and her wonderful horse Sam. Sunday, January 29, 2012. After a good nights sleep and some thinking into my riding and what I am asking for from Sam I woke this morning ready to ride again. Sam wasn't very impressed that we were going to work before breakfast but today was/is meant to be another scorcher and I wanted to beat the heat. Goes from the bottom of the girth up between the front legs through the rings of the snaffle and around the poll. It is all one piece. The lef...
