the endless summer

We arrived in Bali with the sun out, water shining blue and white sandy beaches calling our names! We walked clear out of the airport in order to avoid the more than double taxi fare to Uluwatu. We stopped at a place called Thomas Homestay and, at $15 a night and an amazing view of the Bali coast from our room, our search for a homestay was over. Priority number one: find Andrew a surfboard! Once that was done, we explored the private beach at our homestay. Shells, coral, driftwood, rocks galore! A trip ...

the endless summer: January 2010

http://drewandhill.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Todo esta bien aqui :) (Hello! Everything is good here.) We're still working at Samana Chakra and really enjoying our time here. These last two weeks have flown by! The first five days or so Andrew and I were the only ones helping out the kitchen and were working A LOT- almost all day, 7am - 9pm. We did have separate shifts but wanted to help each other so we would stick around. We're becoming friends quickly, which is going to make it hard to say goodbye to this place! Remember to check out our photos&#...

Buenos Aires, Uruguay and the start of Bolivia. After walking around a bit more and checking out the local artisan fair, we were beginning to lag and needed some food and beers to refuel. We decided on a local hamburger stand for some street food and local beers. The burgers were the size of our heads and came complete with beef, slices of ham, and of course the fried egg.delicious! Slept in a salt hotel (yes the walls, beds, chairs, tables, floors, etc. are all made of salt! Also, I have too many pictur...

the endless summer: Vietnam

http://drewandhill.blogspot.com/2013/06/vietnam.html

Once we hit Ho Chi Minh/Saigon after our 10-hour overnight bus from Cambodia, we immediately grabbed an 8-hour train to Nha Trang wasting no time at all to get to the beach! We bought some cold ones from the market down the street and had a very 'tough' day reading, relaxing and swimming! On top of it all, they're freaking hilarious! There are more than 3,000 islands that sit in the bay and are more than stunning! Vietnam is an amazing country that we are glad to have explored. Though our time was sh...

Chile so far and Arequipa, Peru-. A 30-ft tree is about to fall right on top of them and their just standing there singing and chanting. But neither of us could have anticipated what happened once the tree finally toppled. It was a mad dash of fifty people sprinting to grab the goodies off the tree! Then they pick it up, throw it over their shoulders, and run it out of town. It was pretty amazing. Love Hillary and Andrew. Pictures from Arequipa, Peru:. Pictures from Chile so far:. The driver would charge...

Monday, January 10, 2011. Boudoir Marathon San Diego Boudoir Photographer Alicia Q. Photography. Wow, what a weekend! Our boudoir marathon was such an amazing experience. I had so much fun photographing these beautiful women and hope they love their photos. I'll admit, my shoulders were a little sore on Sunday, but it was more than worth it. I can't wait until our next marathon! Here are a few favorite shots from the weekend of some very special girls who help make my "job" so rewarding. Oohh, la la!

Everyday Life with the Benacs

Everyday Life with the Benacs. Tuesday, May 10, 2011. I recently picked up and old table saw and router table for dirt cheap. It's been a ton of fun learning how to use these new tools. It's also been spring cleaning around old town Temple which means people are throwing away some great old wood. I've picked up a bunch lately and been able to make a few cool things. Take a look. A red toy box for a bunch of lincoln logs we found at a garage sale. The best piece yet, a TV cabinet out of old salvaged wood.

Tomorrow is a day with limitless potential

Tomorrow is a day with limitless potential. Tuesday, October 20, 2009. So it's been FOREVER since I updated our blog.so here goes. We found out April 28th (the day before my finals of my senior year in my undergrad) that we were finally expecting again! Anyway, I've been doing fine. I wasn't really sick at all and this has been a super easy pregnancy; good thing or I'd never do it again and Heavenly Father knows that! A week later on August 13th Drew and I had our ultrasound to find out the baby's gender...
