http://drewkinder.blogspot.com/2007/12/microfinance-plus-plus.html
Drew Kinder in Uganda. Reports of my experience as a Kiva Fellow (www.kiva.org). Monday, December 10, 2007. I’m learning there is more to microfinance than simply loaning money to poor people. My boss at Share an Opportunity (SAO) took me on a field trip to Ngogwe, a village about 40 miles outside of Kampala, to show me what he calls “Microfinance Plus Plus”. The elements of SAO’s “Microfinance Plus Plus” are;. SAO encourages “enterprise solutions” to agricultural planning,. As “Microfinance Plus P...

Drew Kinder in Uganda. Reports of my experience as a Kiva Fellow (www.kiva.org). Saturday, January 19, 2008. How does a 48 year old widow in Uganda with no job, no savings, very little education, and no. Business training provide for eleven orphans, ranging in age from 9 to 17? One answer is to take out a US $180 micro-loan from BRAC Uganda and work very hard to establish and operate two successful small businesses. Regina counted on her brother. He lived nearby in a small, half-finished two room hom...

Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Teenagers vs. The Internet: Teens Win. Today I was talking to a friend who has a teenage daughter. One night a month or so ago, she was babysitting and brought along her new phone. Which mom and dad are paying for. Since IM worked, she assumed it was free. I'm sure you see where this is going. In other words, teenagers have already routed around Twitter and created a distributed system to solve this use case. Posted by Drew @ Cook Like Your Grandmother. Links to this post.

A Work In Progress | My life is an Already but Not Yet
A Work In Progress. My life is an Already but Not Yet. September 30, 2009 by Drewbie. This stinks, what are you trying to tell me? I am an older brother. I caught myself thinking in that manner yesterday when the internship fell through. I was thining, “Huh, what are you trying to tell me God? I’ve been ministering for. I’ve been doing this and that for. 8221; In a sense, I was saying, “why me”? Give me your things! Why did you choose me to be an object of your grace as opposed to an object of your wrath?
