Saturday, September 30, 2006. Last night (Friday 29th September 2006) Marion myself, and a couple of friends Giles and Sandy decided to wander into the Whakapapaiti hut on the flanks of Mount Ruapehu, in the Tongariro National Park. We started onto the track at about 7pm in the dark and strolled along the rock strewn path with our head torches lighting our way. Of after the event and also the next day as we tramped the rest of Whakapapaiti track out to the Whakapapa village. Posted by Ro at 7:34 PM.

Monday, June 19, 2006. Mountainbiking Tree Trunk Gorge. Went for a wee ride around the base of the Kaimanawa Forest Park the other weekend to test out the reworked Tree Trunk Gorge and the Pillars of Hercules Tracks. My self, Maz, and friends Giles, Sandy and JP headed down to Turangi to have a go at some winter riding. With fresh snow down to 600m, we wrapped up fully for the cold onslaught. Thursday, July 27, 2006. A couple of weekends ago, we heard that it was snowing heavily at the Grand Chatau at the Base of Mt Tongariro about an hours drive away.
