Drinking with both hands: May 2010

http://www.drinkingwithbothhands.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Drinking with both hands. Thursday, May 27, 2010. First 100 days (백일). I was shocked to think that it had been 100 days already, so I tried to think about what 100 days meant. I broke it down into smaller parts. 3 months, 11 days. 8,640,000 seconds. But that wasn't very meaningful. Instead, I looked at it this way:. I have about 600 different students. I have run approximately 150 miles (exactly 30km in two races). I know about 100 words and/or phrases in Korean. I have 3 friends that I've climbed with.

Drinking with both hands: vacation! (part 1)

http://www.drinkingwithbothhands.blogspot.com/2010/08/vacation-part-1.html

Drinking with both hands. Thursday, August 5, 2010. I have been busy. When I am not teaching, (in addition to regular social things) I fill my time with running and rock climbing. Daejeon is an amazing place to do both. Without even realizing it, I took the entire month of July off from posting any updates. I am still alive and well, and I am having a great time here. With one of them being ethnic Korean. We got to the Expo and immediately we were overwhelmed. The grounds are huge. Elevated pedes...The f...

Drinking with both hands: March 2010

http://www.drinkingwithbothhands.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Drinking with both hands. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. The worst day I have ever had in Korea? Walking into the classroom felt like deciding to cliff dive on the count of three and jumping on two. I didn't give myself a chance to think about it and I immediately went into teacher mode. I got on the PC, told the class trainer to act as my co-teacher and I was off. Oh, I bought a new USB stick, so everything is good now. Here are some pictures from around my neighborhood. Posted by About this blog. Wednesday...

Drinking with both hands: part 3 (expo day 2)

http://www.drinkingwithbothhands.blogspot.com/2010/08/part-3-expo-day-2.html

Drinking with both hands. Saturday, August 7, 2010. Part 3 (expo day 2). We woke up a little tired from Expo-ing and lots of walking. We decided to devise a plan for the day- there had to be a better way to go about seeing the Expo. First things first: Breakfast. We went outside our place and checked out the street food. There was a woman. To get people to stop. They even have pajama police. The line was amazing all by itself. It was 5 lanes wide divided into 100. And that was it. The pavilion was cool, ...

My adventures while teaching and living in South Korea! Wednesday, October 6, 2010. This one's a random one. Scientists are baffled with the age old question. How is it that two minutes after a water break, one is dying of dehydration. I will marry under one condition. That there are no conditions. Well where is this battle happening? Because if It's on land you're screwed. My eyes are fake you tosspot! I've always wanted to be famous. Nah, i like flabby arms and calves. Hahaha, love them. Really Playing...

Two weeks ago, and since then I've been doing English camps for about four hours a day. Follow us as we stumble around the world! Haeinsa Temple and the Tripitaka. August 4, 2010. After finishing a complete set, the Mongols invaded and burned them all to the ground in the 13th century. My adventures while teaching and living in South Korea! Tuesday, June 22, 2010. My new vocabulary, Korean menus, and some other stuff. Probably one of the coolest things about this whole experience is being able to hang out with people from so many different countries. In the process of getting to know these awesome people though, I've made two very important discoveries: 1. I have never wanted an accent more in my entire life. and 2. I need to expand my vocabulary. Also known as "I'm pooped.". Have a gr...
