My training and racing experiences for Marathon, and Triathlon events. Friday, June 5, 2009. New Marathon Personal Best! I am starting to see the results of my training as I posted a new personal best at the Calgary Marathon beating my previous time by almost 20 minutes! All in all it was an amazing finish, as I started to tear up, and I know if I had the proper runners, I would have posted a sub 3:20 marathon! I have signed up for the Royal Victoria Marathon in hopes of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

My training and racing experiences for Marathon, and Triathlon events. Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Calgary Police Half Marathon. My intention for this race. To see how far my training has come over the last couple months by beating my personal best time of 1:40:13. My goal was to run at a 4:15km pace as long as possible with a completion time around 1:30:00. The first 5km were fast, I must have been running on pure adrenaline as my pace averaged around 3:50 - 4:00, I could beat my target time!

Ari O'Speedwagon: September 2010
http://ari-o-speedwagon.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 6, 2010. Over the years I got caught up in different things—martial arts, mountain biking, girls, drinking (heh)—but I never completely forgot about this goal, and whenever, perchance, I happened upon some triathlon event while channel surfing, I was glued. As I say, this was never the intention when I started, but it certainly became one of the reasons I continued. And the Calgary half-Ironman, while fulfilling, just wasn’t enough. That “distance” wasn’t...The Ironman Canada Village:.

My training and racing experiences for Marathon, and Triathlon events. Thursday, March 26, 2009. Bittersweet - Part Two of Two. Bittersweet - The finish will never be sweet, without the bitter. Part Two of Two - Sink or Swim. Breath - one - two - three. Breath - one - two - three, GAAAAASP. Anxiety fills my chest, my ears are snugly tucked under the swimming cap, my breaths become short and more frequent, the goggles blur the brown tiles a mere 4 feet from. I have a long way to go.
