Sometimes We Just Need to Laugh: March 2008
http://katrinabates.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. I told him if my FAVORITE verse was called and he missed it again I was leaving him there and he could find a new home! Empty threats don't really work though do they. . . ) He walked into the church saying Romans 8:28 aloud. Well They didn't call my favorite verse, but Garrett did an excellent job in the drill anyway. He only had 4 mistakes (he was allowed 8) and therefore moves on to the state drill in a few weeks. HOORAY for Garrett! As losT aS yOu. Links to this post. Tonight ...

The McQuirkys: Frosty's Anatomy
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008/03/frostys-anatomy.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Monday, March 10, 2008. For Christmas this year, my cousin got Zeke and Yana a snowman kit. It came complete with a corncob pipe, a button nose and two eyes made out of coal. (Yes, I had to sing the song in my head.) It also came with 3 buttons, a scar and a top hat. Saturday afternoon, we bundled the kids up in layers of socks, pants, shirts, coats, gloves - the whole shebang. I got my camera ready, opened the side door and off they went! We finished up our day in the s...

The McQuirkys: Car Show
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008/02/car-show.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Sunday, February 24, 2008. Last night we took the kids to the Auto Show at the Fair and Expo Center - the newly combined New Car Show and Carl Casper Show. The kids and my Dad had a blast checking out all of the cars - me, Jeff and my mom had even more fun checking out the crowd. On the way in, Dad dropped us off at the door. We realized that he had taken a child's ticket and had to wait for him at the door. Yana took a spot behind the driver's seat. It Is What It Is.

The McQuirkys: Kids DO the Darndest Things...
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008/03/when-i-was-kid-it-was-common-thing-for.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Kids DO the Darndest Things. When I was a kid it was a common thing for the children's choir to sing in "big church." We did Sunday morning specials, holiday programs, etc. There was always a kid doing something to get the attention of the congregation - I was the kid who pulled her dress over her head. Now, at first it was out of embarrassment. BUT - me (and the rest of the congregation) can only remember this face:. Once she saw the reaction an...

The McQuirkys: January 2008
http://mcquirkys.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Quir-ky having or full of quirks. Wednesday, January 16, 2008. Student of the Month. Every month at Zeke's school, each class picks a student of the month. On Friday when he came home from school we opened his folder to find that his teacher had selected him as the student of the month for December. We knew it wouldn't be long before this happened, due to the fact that everytime we've talked to his teacher she has bragged about what a wonderful, adorable amd pleasant student he is. The day after Christma...

Sometimes We Just Need to Laugh: April 2008
http://katrinabates.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Thirty-three dollars. That's the price I paid for keeping some idiot from taking the front-end off my van. I know. It could have been worse. But thirty-three dollars for a little mirror seems quite ridiculous. Oh. And can someone explain why the passenger side mirror is $10.00 more than the drivers side? Sounds like a money making scheme to me! As losT aS yOu. Links to this post. Saturday, April 26, 2008. The Carlisle kids were state winners today! As losT aS yOu. As losT aS yOu.

Sometimes We Just Need to Laugh: February 2008
http://katrinabates.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 22, 2008. Sorry this is so late, I have been distracted by the events of the weekend and busy with a heavy week of school responsibilities. With games starting up again tonight, I figured I better give you last week's update! Cynthia spent much of her time sitting next to me (and Austin of course! On the floor. I take a couple of my school books and try to get a few things accomplished between games, but that doesn't always work out. I'd rather spend the time talking to my daught...As lo...

Friday, May 30, 2008. Why I Don't Do Windows . . . . . . . As losT aS yOu. Links to this post. Sunday, May 25, 2008. What Would I Do Without Garrett? I was sitting upstairs watching TV when Kimberly started screaming at the top of her lungs. She had been on the computer (My-Space would be her life if I let it! The computer with her hands covering her head. So Kimberly screamed from the basement floor, I screamed from the top of the steps and Cynthia stood in the safety of the kitchen and laughed at us bo...
