My goal as I get more comfortable with the website is to provide relatively robust tabs and lessons that pair tablature with audio and or video. As this is a bio, I’ll mention that I was born in Kansas in 1979 to a wonderful, mostly normal Mid-Western family. Everything was going swimmingly until I heard a guy playing the banjo…. I found one and I bought it. I knew nothing about it save for the fact that it was made of really pretty flamed maple. It turns out I had bought a pretty darn good banjo, a Mike Ramsey. My Fielding Catamount banjo. March 21, 2013. At some point in 2005 I contacted my friends Will and Paula Fielding. About commissioning another banjo. My first Fielding (a lovely Rooster model I’ll feature in a later post) had become a steady favorite, but I was really smitten by the collaborations between Will and an amazing wood carver Michelle Holzapfel.
