Patients and families were camped out in the hallways waiting for the ER Doc who would somehow diagnose every malady and slosh through the mass of suffering humanity while saving countless lives, "one sore throat at a time". Instinctively, I picked up a chair and began to duel with him. Was this to be the great romantic rescue of my life?
