Pondering in Purple: 6/16/13 - 6/23/13

A series of thoughts in no particular order. Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Sometimes we do the worst things with the best of intentions. When I say this, I don't mean "they" or "those people." I mean "we." I mean LOOK inwardly. And it will quiet us instantly. It's not as fun as pointing the finger at others, but it is what is right. And I didn't like that. I wanted to talk about this other person. I wanted to focus on everything that was wrong with this other person. And why? Wanted everyone to know how bad th...

A series of thoughts in no particular order. Thursday, August 14, 2014. I am not a fan of Gordon Lee's pediatrician. I am a fan, however, of the pediatric nurse. She was amazing! He also loved the fact that his examination table was a lion. In this picture, he is looking for the otoscope (hanging on the wall behind him) and cannot find it. I did a bad job taking this picture because I was trying to get a picture of the otoscope and of the picture of it on the page in his book. But apparently I only g...

A series of thoughts in no particular order. Sunday, March 16, 2014. I continued praying because I wasn't having faith- not because I was truly longing for what was good. Likewise, I was getting frustrated. Why isn't God doing anything? What more do I need to do? There's the problem. Everything is on my terms, my way. There is a time when God wants us to act, and then there is a time when God wants us to believe. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Tale of a Third First-Trimester. Hello...

A series of thoughts in no particular order. Thursday, October 2, 2014. Gordon Lee has been learning all about apples this week. There are endless ideas for things you can do with apples. Plus, my child who wouldn't touch a raw apple before this is eating them like candy now! What a bonus. :) His books have really helped him understand how apples are formed, and they also help him realize that different apples have different flavors. It is just so delicious! I cut the apple in half. Dug out the core.

A series of thoughts in no particular order. Saturday, June 27, 2015. Why I’m Tired of Hearing about the so-called 4th Trimester. I’ve heard it again and again—like’s it’s some ground-breaking discovery—that the first 3 months of a child’s life is like the 4. Trimester explanation, I have no problem with that either. But I do, and I am really sick and tired of hearing it constantly as if someone is a professional on these things and needs to school me. Isn’t that obvious? Trimester. So if my body nat...

Pondering in Purple: Learning as We Go

A series of thoughts in no particular order. Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Learning as We Go. This week, Gordon Lee and I are learning all about work vehicles of all kinds. We just got our books yesterday, and we have read about 5 so far. This morning, we were out running some errands when everyone's favorite orange road markers showed up. Great. I think to myself, just what I need.construction! Meanwhile, a tiny voice in the backseat calls out (with all of the enthusiasm his little body can contain), "Mommy!

karenskidcrafts: ICE STORM
http://karenskidcrafts.blogspot.com/2009/01/ice-storm.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. I took these in my back yard this morning. It's cold and icy, and I didn't have to go to work today! I'm relieved because my husband got to stay home with me and the kids. We have a fire going - just a word to the wise, check your firewood for bugs before bringing it into your house! karenskidcrafts: Child's Felted Crochet Purse
http://karenskidcrafts.blogspot.com/2009/01/childs-felted-crochet-purse.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Child's Felted Crochet Purse. This is such an easy project - and lots of fun! I just got some thick wool (100% wool or it won't felt) yarn and crocheted a rectangle. Then I folded it and sewed the sides together (with the wool yarn). I just crocheted a single chain for the strap. When it's all together wash in warm water and let dry! I chose not to line this purse, I like how it looks as is. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Rocks In My Dryer.

karenskidcrafts: April 2009
http://karenskidcrafts.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 10, 2009. I think it was Wednesday we had a big rainstorm. This was the view from my front yard after that storm! When my daughter saw it she said, 'That's a promise! What a beautiful reminder that God keeps his promises to us. When I told my preschoolers Jesus died, I asked them if that would be a good reason for a holiday. They all yelled NO! Please remember the sacrifice that was made for your sins, and remember that it's a gift that has to be actively accepted. The Easter bunny is f...
