Even though our national friends have never experienced it, we studied "S" for snow - closest snowman we could get was a tropical ones out of bananas :). So fun that a turtle came visiting right around the time we did "T" for turtle! Lacing fun with "U". Making a "U" from seashells - now that's using our local resources well! Fun pier-ish thing...

Saturday, September 4, 2010. July in a Nutshell. Well we got back to the Aceh heat after Vietnam and Lij took his normal sleeping position to try and stay cool.(Lij is now bottle free and clearly outgrowing his crib! Thanks Brains for the cute outfit for Lij - we thought it was appropriate he was showing off his hands for the "I'm a handful" pix ;). Guy time lounging on the porch:. Here's E cooking our marshmallows on thin wooden skewers over the gas stove, thankfully no weird taste, just yumminess!

Friday, August 6, 2010. So in June we made a quick 5 day trip to Ho Chi Minh City to visit with M&D Drummond while they were there - here we are at the Jakarta airport before taking off. Grandma helping him play on a few rides:. We went to Indian one night and Lij found a partner in crime to throw all the coasters on the restaurant floor - at least she was the owner's kid ;). Smilin' with grandma :). One fun memory we had together was Lij's 1st haircut (at 21 months! Proud Paw-Paw recording for posterity.

September 2, 2012. In August, we had a great family vacation to Phuket and celebrated Jeff's 3rd birthday. it was a great month. Jeff on the beach in Phuket. Sam in the pool. Jeff the little doctor. Sam- very into coloring and drawing these days. Our wonderful Pi Pound. An obstacle course which was part of Jeff's birthday party. Figuring out the next step on the map. Finley: "we are all going to heaven". 50 some odd year old strange man: "oh yeah". Finley: "yeah, you are going to heaven and I am going to heaven, my daddy is in heaven". Strange man: "oh. ummmm. I'm so sorry". Finley: "yeah, but he is in heaven and you will go there too". Strange man: "Yeah, I hear it is a pretty cool place, I think we all get to go there one day".

Finley and I at our first Baylor game of the season, can you tell she loved it? Seriously though, she has told me a hundred times since then that she is a Baylor Bear girl, I think the snow cones at the game sealed her love of football! Waiting at the hospital for dad's surgery to finish and grateful for this girl who provides so much comic relief!
