Drunk Mummy: We'll Take Manhattan
http://drunkmummy.blogspot.com/2007/08/well-take-manhattan.html
Thursday, 9 August 2007. We also managed rides on the subway and in yellow taxis, went to the Central Park zoo, and popped our heads in at Tiffany’s. We ate fantastic Chinese food downstairs at Wo Hop. Superb pizza at Arturo's. And drank root beer with our burgers in the Big Daddy Diner. Add to that the bagels, pretzels and ice cream we consumed, and we can safely say that we took the most almighty bite out of the Big Apple. Okay, yes, on that basis, I suppose so. I am planning for tonight’s meal t...
Drunk Mummy: June 2007
http://drunkmummy.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 June 2007. This hasn’t been a good week for sleep. I haven’t been ill (I’m not allowed to be) but on the rare occasions that I feel unwell, I just want to be left alone to hibernate silently in a corner of the bed. My children, on the other hand, are keen to share their illnesses and the detailed descriptions of their symptoms at all times of the day and night. My, how things have changed. Given that it's dark, I suppose he can't see me lying there with jowls like a rabid dog. If he were t...
Drunk Mummy: March 2007
http://drunkmummy.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 30 March 2007. Hurrah for the Hols! Well yes, hideously so, but when we moaned about it, no one paid any attention. My mother was as unlikely to ferry us around to ‘holiday activities’ as she was to pay someone to clean her house for her. I was wondering if I could con my kids into an alternative range of Easter courses. How about:. Junior Horticulture (weeding the garden). Life Laundry for Littlies (tidying their bedrooms). Kitchen Skills for Young Chefs (making lunch). Posted by Drunk Mummy.
Drunk Mummy: July 2007
http://drunkmummy.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 18 July 2007. I have been nominated by Mopsa. For a Blogging Community Involvement Award. For Services to Schmoozing! Who has such a warm, conversational style, you feel that you are sitting right next to her, at the kitchen table of her lovely mountain home. Download the shiny badge, Jenny, and enjoy! Anyway, enough of the red carpet - we are off on holiday! As I am in holiday mood, I have cracked open a bottle of Ca’Rosa Prosecco (Oddbins £7.49) which is dry, with a light and ...Just one mor...
Drunk Mummy: Bloggering Off
http://drunkmummy.blogspot.com/2007/08/bloggering-off.html
Friday, 17 August 2007. I’m swanning off to South Wales for two weeks. ‘Swanning’ being the appropriate word, since I am trying to maintain a cool, calm and collected appearance on the surface (see my graceful, slender neck gulping back this glass of sparkling wine), but underneath I am working frantically to get everything packed and ready (see my big broad feet thrashing around among the boxes in the loft). This time we’re off for a week camping. Magazine. I don’t live in Dulwich. I doubt...Who was up ...

I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever: March 2007
http://lifeinasecondaryschool.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Friday, 30 March 2007. Well school is now officially over. The students were allowed to leave after assemblies this afternoon. And the staff all scarpered pretty quickly after that.not unusual. I had to stay to get 9 (yes 9) exclusion letters done, all for 5 days each on return from school and all pending the decision to make them permanent. Bit of a disastrous end to a brilliant term. Friday, March 30, 2007. Thursday, 29 March 2007. Wednesday, 28 ...

I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever: February 2007
http://lifeinasecondaryschool.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Wednesday, 21 February 2007. We've all been there. Some have fond memories, some have not so fond memories, but we've all been to school. We less able soles, who don't have a PGCE, and work in the bowls of the school, in Admin, have (in the opinion of this writer) more common sense than the teachers. Teachers do have a habit, not all I'll admit, of thinking that they are the be all and end all of the school. I hope you enjoy reading.

I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever: I am still alive - honest!
http://lifeinasecondaryschool.blogspot.com/2007/12/i-am-still-alive-honest.html
I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Monday, 31 December 2007. I am still alive - honest! I hang my head in shame - a shame that has the name laziness. I have not blogged for a whole two months, but there is a reason, honest. So I have taken my (lack of) education in my hands and I have signed up for a degree with the OU. In History - my favourite subject, which is weird. Take it one step at a time, but what if.I know useless. So there you go - that's where I've been and that's. 13 Ja...
save alice: I will actually continue a story for once...
http://savealice.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-will-actually-continue-story-for-once.html
A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. I will actually continue a story for once. The kids rooms were neat and tidy as well. Lola, my 13-year-old, had left her bedroom light on. She did not seem to be home. I rembered that she had a gymnastics party that night. My husband had in a rare turn of events taken the night away from wooing clients and was helping to chaperone the event. Posted by Allie Mine. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. If I could sell a Kidney instead of work so much I think I would. But being a slave to the almighty buck builds character. More like builds reality. Posted by Allie Mine. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Slow Children at Play. Daddy Don't Hit Me.

A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. Will work for money. Summer is coming and the plan is to work my little behind off. I need to make money. Lots and lots and lots of money. So far I have one job, and one interview, and a childwelfare clearance form on the way. Hopefully I will soon have 3 jobs. The plan is to have a day job, work 3 days a week serving, and do one day a week of respite care. If I'm lucking, I might even be able to pick up some casual work on the side.
save alice: 3 (or is it 4) degrees of seperation
http://savealice.blogspot.com/2008/07/3-or-is-it-4-degrees-of-seperation.html
A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. 3 (or is it 4) degrees of seperation. I met my hairdresser through my ex boyfriends mom. She bought me a gift certificate for a salon I couldn;t dream of affording and sent me to see Trina, the woman who has been doing her hair for years. Trina was ofcourse freaking awesome. She is an incredibly talented hair dresser. that seems some how the wrong title. Trina is a hair God. No one else on the planet gets to touch my hair. And do I care.
save alice: BEERS
http://savealice.blogspot.com/2008/07/beers.html
A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. The boy and I did a world beer tasting recently. W picked up a bottle of beer from 6 different countries and then we drank it. Sometimes we gagged on it. King Fisher from India. Not so much into the UK beer. What do you guys like? Posted by Allie Mine. Macs Gold (or really any of the Macs brand) from New Zealand, or Monteiths Gold (or any of the Monteiths brand) from New Zealand. Little Creatures from Australia. Slow Children at Play.

http://savealice.blogspot.com/2008/07/stereotyping-is-fun.html
A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. It went down like this:. At work pouring drinks Liza looks pissed off. So I says: You like pissed, what up? Liza: People always think black people are mad if they're not smiling. Me: Yup, that's right- it's cuz you black. Liza: Oh well, people always think I look angry if I'm not smiling. Later Pouring drinks again. Liza: Man, Europeans are always SO nice to me, I don't know why! Posted by Allie Mine. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
save alice: If there is a rope
http://savealice.blogspot.com/2008/06/if-there-is-rope.html
A swirl of color and laughter with a dash of creeping awkwardness. If there is a rope. If there is a rope I have probably reached the end of it. Working so much that my mind skips beats. My mouth hangs open in a constant yawn. I have cut the rope. For now. Caught a cold. So am taking well deserved time off from day job. But mostly I need change. A fresh start. A new beginning to get me through to the end of the summer with a well padded wallet and a few adventures under my belt. Posted by Allie Mine.

Monday, 3 September 2007. Bloggering Off - For Good. The jockeying for position has started. Several parents have already been straining at the leash, eager to drop impressive nuggets of one-upmanship into the school gate conversation:. 8216;Ptolemy has been doing Kumon Astrophysics over the summer – he just LOVES it! 8216;Cressida was so impressed after our visit to the Coliseum that she’s been teaching herself Latin for the last three weeks!
