Vassal of the King. Christ Fellowship Bible Church. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Why I Am Relentlessly Committed to Expository Preaching. Why am I relentlessly committed to expository preaching? Geoffrey R. Kirkland. Christ Fellowship Bible Church. Expository preaching allows God to speak to the people through His powerful and eternal Word. Expository preaching means that God determines what will be preached since I work verse-by-verse through books of the Bible. Expository preaching counsels the souls of be...

All We Like Sheep: Children are a blessing from the Lord
http://havegoneastray.blogspot.com/2010/10/children-are-blessing-from-lord.html
Saturday, October 9, 2010. Children are a blessing from the Lord. These are my son and daughter and their cousins. My son is top right and my daughter is the one with the finger in her mouth in the middle. They are my most favorite little ones in my life thus far.until they start having some of their own. I should probably mention that their ages range from 21 to 30 now. I am pretty sure I was the director that year, if any of my buddies read this and know different, please say so) and it is still availa...

All We Like Sheep: Thankful on the twenty-sixth of November
http://havegoneastray.blogspot.com/2012/11/thankful-on-twenty-sixth-of-november.html
Monday, November 26, 2012. Thankful on the twenty-sixth of November. I am thankful for my brother and sister. There are too many miles between us these days. It is hard when close family members decide to move away. Very hard. Yeah Those were great days. Sibling rivalry aside, I really miss them being close enough to hug. (The dog’s name was Prince. He wasn’t one, but we loved him anyway.) The only one missing tonight was mom, but she wasn’t online at the time. :). My prayers for my family are never as e...

All We Like Sheep: Thankful on Black Friday
http://havegoneastray.blogspot.com/2012/11/thankful-on-black-friday.html
Friday, November 23, 2012. Thankful on Black Friday. I am thankful for thankfulness in the midst of those things which do not seem to deserve thankfulness. I did not go shopping last night (wouldn’t have gone then anyway), but I usually go out some time in the afternoon on Friday—after the insanity has settled a bit. This year I did not. Instead, I stayed inside and gave Proctor and Gamble some serious business by using a boatload of Puffs. Playing games with my family—such as Hive. With the Lady Bug.

The Musings of a Bible Sojourner. You Can’t Cry About Everything. July 2, 2015. One of the most memorable childhood memories that I have was when I was about 9 or 10 years old. It was a humid summer night, I remember having just showered but then sweating again as soon as I got out of the shower. My older brother and one of our neighbors were playing outside, so I went out to join them. I needed to remedy this situation quickly! I don’t know why, but that event left a big mark on my life. Not a negat...

The Musings of a Bible Sojourner. Better to Leave too Early than to Stay too Late. June 17, 2015. I have tried to do a lot of thinking about how better to love other people. It is amazing the practicality of love. Love meets the needs of others. Love exalts others. Love seeks the betterment of others. Love is the supreme element in healthy relationships. Recently I have thought about one of the more practical elements of love found in Proverbs 25:17:. Photo credit: Commit No Nuisance. You might also like.
