The JACKRABBIT SKI PROGRAM is a 10-week program that teaches cross-country skiing to kids. The program usually starts on the first Saturday of January, and is based at the club chalet on Balmer Bay Road. Lessons are held Saturday afternoons starting at 1:30, and last 1 to 2 hours depending on age and skill level. Hot drinks are served in the chalet after the lesson. If your child needs equipment, consider renting from the club collection of used equipment for a modest fee (see Rentals section below).

DRXC literally could not function without its volunteers. Please consider donating some of your time to helping out with one or more of the following activities:. Help upgrade existing trails by cutting and laying corduroy, spreading fill (wood chips, sand, pit run), improving drainage, replacing bridges and so on. This work is also done mostly in the fall. Visitors are welcome to use our facilities. Before you use the Silver Spoon Trails, please sign the waiver form inside the chalet on Balmer Bay Road. Please also consider a donation towards the maintenance of the chalet and the grooming of the trails. A donation box is available inside the chalet. DRXC Groomed Trails
DRXC is the Deep River Cross Country Ski Club, Deep River, Ont. The club grooms 10km of classic-only trails and another 10km of combined skating classic trails in woodland on the east side of the townsite. (Visitors will find our skating trails narrow.)
