Some people really like my stuff…. 8220;From a flesh-obsessed San Franciscan who quit her job as a hot-shot government lawyer in favor of full-time artistry, Drywell Art offers up hand-drawn butchery-style diagrams of meats both real (pig/cow) and optimistically awesome (Twitter’s Fail Whale), all of which’re available as 13X19 posters or miniature prints…”. Meat is only the beginning for an artist who joyfully reimagines the innards of artichokes, ice cream cones, and even ghosts” –. 8221; Michael Bauer.

http://www.drywellart.com/blog/about

Drywell Art is the creation of me, Alyson Thomas. Drywell Art started in 2010, a few months after leaving my attorney past behind me. What began as a daily drawing challenge for this self-taught artist has grown into a full-time six-figure meat, booze, and food art business. I might be a genius. Probably not. Drywell Art HQ is in San Francisco, where I can patronize nerdy cocktail bars, attend butchery demos, drink homebrew, and watch the wild parrots eating in my backyard. Seriously.

Interview with Uncommon Goods. Written on May 11, 2016. As part of the roll out of my glasses, I gave a little interview. To Uncommon Goods. They’ve been great to work with, especially for someone who is pretty licensing-shy. I’ve reproduced the interview below where you can read about my uncommon (see what I did there? Path to becoming an artist, as well as some of my favorite spots to drink here in San Francisco. 8230;………. Alyson Thomas’ Creative Cocktail Illustrations and Other Adventures in Art.

The Shoofly Project...: March 2012

http://theshooflyproject.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

About The Shoofly Project. Lemon Sorbet Bubbly and The Mennonite Writer's Conference. Oh hey, Katie here! As you know, within this project, there is the work of the whisk and the work of the pen - The cooking. Portions of a cookbook that is. Let us not get too. So first. on the Writing Front…. This photo is purely foreshadowing for the whisk work later in this post. Yes, More Please. Links to this post. The Butters" by Leah. No, I'm pretty sure it's called Jenga. The Shoofly Project...: April 2012

http://theshooflyproject.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

About The Shoofly Project. A Love Letter to Robert. In 2010 Robert Reynolds. My dear teacher and friend, had cancer. But that year he battled it out and walked it off. He baked cakes for the nurses who shot chemo up his veins and snuck Armagnac into infusion rooms so as to properly celebrate the last shooting up. I'd say he went back. The first sign of the cancer's awakening was a word. His loss. That vast field is his home. To lose a word - Death to a writer. Robert's committed friend and caretaker, say...

The Shoofly Project...: May 2013

http://theshooflyproject.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

About The Shoofly Project. Every culture seems to ask a universal question of its cooks:. Hey, where’s the meat-filled bread? The Chinese – dim sum. The Polish fill pirogi. Armenians – Manti. With beef or yak. This multicultural culinary fact smacked me in the face again recently. A sweet little spot,. Just opened around the corner from me in Baltimore. Specialty Buns. Reads the gold lettering on the front door, and inside the pastry case reads out their rift on that universal question. The. Looking back...

kimretta | Eating My Mistakes

https://eatingmymistakes.wordpress.com/author/kimretta

It's still delicious. I Have Not Been Cooking. November 18, 2011. It’s sad, really, but the extent of my creativity these days is “Cook cauliflower. Dump in pasta. Eat.”. I have, however, been running, and if you’re into that sort of thing, I’m now chronicling those stories over at Every Day is Another Dumb Adventure. Good Ol’ Meatballs. October 20, 2011. I have a habit of buying ground beef or turkey, using a little bit of it, freezing the rest, and forgetting about it for…months? I’ve used Bittman.

The Shoofly Project...: January 2012

http://theshooflyproject.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

About The Shoofly Project. On One End of Change (Part 1). My kitchen (and in-home wifi! In Santa Fe have been in working order for about 2 days now. So it would seem incredibly appropriate to write a post regarding the place of New Mexican chiles in Mennonite cuisine (maybe in that tiny room off to the left of the bierrocks), the color of the new stove (green! Or what my first food endeavor is here (chicken stock. clearly). The beginning of Cassoulet. Category of all things. And alas there were failures&...

About The Shoofly Project. Elise Hofer Derstine's Food (and Farm) Story, part 1. I want spiritual peace in my contribution to the world. Can I do all that just by raising chickens? Who knows. I’m here to find out." - Elise Hofer Derstine. Well now that we’ve got our cookie fix worked out for the time being, it seems some poultry and pig are in order, and of course another Mennonite Women’s Food Story. Elise Hofer Derstine. The Shoofly Project...: How I Found Home and Sweet Butter Rolls

http://theshooflyproject.blogspot.com/2013/02/how-i-found-home-and-sweet-butter-rolls.html

About The Shoofly Project. How I Found Home and Sweet Butter Rolls. In the last thirteen months, I have made a giant U across the United States. Portland to Santa Fe. To Charleston and now… to Baltimore. I have learned a lot. In those thirteen months… how to make cookies with fruity pebbles. How to make pudding with pig’s blood, how to ask for help. Also, I learned how much I really, really. The boxes morphed into a public reading of diaries:. Dishes. Loaf pans. Ramekins. For Ready To Go. A couple Rubber...

About The Shoofly Project. The Leaf Lard and Woven Basket, Part 2. To get caught up, check out Part 1 in this series, Keturah's Fast and My Unexpected Road Trip. I recalled the first line in Keturah's entry for February 7th, 1972: I'm still somewhat in a daze. Took stock of my traveling companions…. They were the things I dared not put on moving trucks - Keturah’s and my diaries, a box of quilts, my baby blanket made by my grandmother, the fabric a print of Amish girls in bonnets. My woven basket sat in ...

http://theshooflyproject.blogspot.com/2012/06/keturahs-grief-and-my-unexpected-road.html

About The Shoofly Project. Keturah's Fast and My Unexpected Road Trip. Great Grandma Keturah’s diaries, the ones I once traversed the Puget Sound. For, recently made a trip in a large Rubbermaid container, each book wrapped cautiously in tissue paper. They travelled in the back of my blue Subaru, and sitting beneath Keturah’s Rubbermaid was my own, another blue box - full of my. I sat in the driver's seat. My woven basket in the passenger seat. DRS | Drywell Retrofit Solutions

Introduction to the issue. In some regions of Oregon, drywells are used to dispose of storm water from paved roadways and parking lots. The runoff from these paved areas is typically contaminated with hydrocarbons and heavy metals, but many of the drywells have no pre-treatment system to remove these pollutants. The polluted storm water makes its way into the groundwater and the drinking water supply. EPA / United States Environmental Protection Agency. Underground Injection Control Program. Contact us t...
