Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Thursday, November 28, 2013. It was four years ago when I first introduced you to the great overcoat awakening. And the greatcoat renaissance. If I blog it here you can rest assured that it will enter mainstream culture in a few years. These days " military style overcoats. Are all the rage. And a lot has changed since then. Well I'm here to share my findings. There's also something timeless about these coats. The cut and look of them fits with today's military c...

http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2013/11/still-ahead-of-curve-starship-troopers.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Saturday, November 9, 2013. Still ahead of the curve: Starship Troopers. First they rip off my movie ideas. Next they rip off my blog posts. Remember when I wrote about Starship Troopers and how it was a misunderstood and underrated movie? That was back in March of 2011. Well now the Atlantic is working a swagger jacker. But I said it better:. Posted by Mr. B. People stealing my ideas. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dog eat Crow world. Stuff you will hate. Embra...

Mister Booze: The Punisher
http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-punisher.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Monday, April 14, 2014. You don't remember this gem from the 80s? Well shame on you. Shame! I read a few of the comic books and of course the problem with comic books is they are for kids. So they can't show the Punisher violently murdering mafioso. But an R rated action movie can! The one thing that always bothered me about this movie was that Dolph Lundgren, a natural blonde, was cast as dark haired Frank Castle. So they die his hair, no big deal. But they ...I hea...

Mister Booze: Bundle up!
http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2009/11/bundle-up.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Monday, November 23, 2009. With November's doom settling in, it is time to girdle your loins and prepare for winter. For us Northerners a good strategy is through coats. Yes, you may like your coats just fine down South. But up here, coats aren't just fashion accessories; they are functional as well. Are your coat pockets warm and deep? Could you fit a pint of whiskey or brandy comfortably in your coat pockets? Does your coat keep you really warm? Hopefully no one re...

Mister Booze: Ripped Off
http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2013/11/ripped-off.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Friday, November 8, 2013. I told you to mark it here. That's right, I came up with the idea for a movie about Somali Pirates. Way back in 2011. But it would be an inside look at the lives of Somali Pirates. The gritty stories of desperately poor young men searching for riches the only way they can might have some resonance with the entertainment audience. And now they made it. Starring Tom Hanks or some shit. Come on Hollywood, pay me. Posted by Mr. B.

Mister Booze: June 2013
http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Booze films presents: The Avengers Two: Inbetween Days. Wasn't the Avengers a great action flick? Sure, it kinda got lost in the middle where they were trying to have tension and drama for no reason. Like why did Loki get himself captured? So he gets on a motorcycle and drives west from New York to California. It is a road trip movie where Captain interacts with the salt of the earth and realizes that he still loves this great nation of ...

Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Monday, November 4, 2013. From the bargain bin: Nature Quest CDs. Do you remember the 90s? Like really remember the 90s? If you do, then you remember that New Age music was big. Oh, maybe it was bigger in the 80s I don't know. But in the early 90s it was still going strong. This is a safe place, right? Yeah I know, right? Check out Wolf Song. By Ralph Vaughn Williams. Not New Age at all. Some of the others feature the ocean with Pachelbel, Handel, and Bach. Still ahe...

http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2011/04/movie-idea-gentlemen-of-fortune.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Saturday, April 23, 2011. Movie idea: Gentlemen of Fortune. Inside me is a film director wishing to be unleashed. So here I will bore you with my newest film idea: Gentlemen of Fortune. This is a movie about Somali Pirates. I find them to be an incredibly fascinating lot. First, let us start with the cinematic aspect of this film. Imagine the basic setting like this:. As you can see they don't look like Jack Sparrow but they are colorful characters none the less.

Mister Booze: December 2012
http://misterbooze.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Trolling the bottom shelf since 1952. Monday, December 24, 2012. End of the year whiskey miscellany. Paddy's Irish whiskey has returned to America. This time Paddy is available in 750ml bottles. It is slightly overpriced at my local retailer at 22 dollars (2 dollars more than Jameson). If you are looking for a last minute Christmas gift to your liver, why not? I notice the petite sirah barrel aging up front with a hint of tart flavor, but the finish turns a little sharp. Maybe you'll like more than I?
