Team training is done two (2) times per month for all staff in the following:. Medications and their side effects including seizures. Incident report writing/DDD Notification of Incident. Client Rights (Participant Rights). Use of Fire Suppression Equipment. Health and Safety Manual, Emergency Plans and Procedures. Objectives and Implementing them.

History of DSI

Began in 1972 as Roundup Enterprises and was established by PVARC (Platte Valley Association for Retarded Citizens), a group of concerned parents. The program was originally housed at 300 West Valley Road in Torrington. Early work activities for those who participated in the program were assembling fishing lures, making flavored marshmallow fish bait, building feed bunks, assembling foam hair rollers, sorting beans, sewing potato sacks and making craft items to sell.
