Woodfall Primary School

Completed in March 2007, this project involved the construction of a single storey extension, between the junior and infant school buildings, in order to provide a central administration facility for the school. A key requirement of the brief was the need to improve access between the two school buildings which was achieved through a combination of an internal corridor and a covered walkway. Following extensive fire damage to their existing nursery the client required a new facility to be created in a vacant building on an adjacent site. The project needed to be completed within a strict deadline due to the limited availability of temporary alternative accommodation. The project was designed, constructed and occupied within 11 months of its inception. Obtaining statutory approvals including planning permission.

Fire Station Refurbishments

The client wished to refurbish two operational fire stations to improve facilities for staff, rationalise accommodation and create space to allow the buildings to be made accessible to the local community. Internally all areas were refurbished including office, staff welfare and toilet facilities and the accommodation layouts re-modeled to suit current working practices. Both stations remained fully operational throughout the construction works.
