Why buy from apple? Sunday, 29 November 2009. The car would use about an extra gallon of fuel – quite evident from the fuel gauge and confirmed when topping up. One tends to dismiss it at first but repeating the journey with non-Morrisons fuel confirmed my ‘normal consumption’ and the run on a tank of M’s would use the extra fuel. Also having a half tank of M fuel also had an effect. A simple calculation shows the extra fuel used by the Renault:. 220 miles / 48 mpg = 4.58 gals. Difference: 0.79 gals.
