Life by the Liffey

Life by the Liffey. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. It Certainly Took Me Long Enough. I'm sorry this took me so long - - I couldn't really bear to conclude the blog while I was still in Dublin. Even if I had, it would have been difficult to make clear everything that I've recognized during the fall semester abroad. Thank you all so much for reading this. It was such a comfort to me to be able to update you all on the goings-on in Dublin. But we're (pretty much) all in the same time zone now, aren't we? I'm te...

Life by the Liffey: One More Week!

http://www.dublinthefun.blogspot.com/2008/12/one-more-week.html

Life by the Liffey. Saturday, December 6, 2008. A few weeks ago I took a little field trip to the National Museum of Ireland - - it's just down the road on Kildare Street, and it makes a nice free afternoon-filler. I'm sure for some people it would be really amazing, room after room of old stone bowls and iron spears. Don't get me wrong, it was all fascinating, but I was there for one reason: bog bodies. That being said, don't worry! Only one more week! We're starting to clean up for Christmas- your room...

Life by the Liffey: September 2008

http://www.dublinthefun.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Life by the Liffey. Saturday, September 27, 2008. The final chapter in the story of last weekend's expedition to the west of Ireland. When last we left our brave explorers, they were on a ferry bound across Galway Bay to Doolin, a tiny seaside town. Rough waves and a chilly breeze did nothing to quench the enthusiasm of the nine travellers - - though the rainstorm that caught them by surprise certainly did. And what a morning it was! This is what we saw:. Can you picture anything more idyllic? If you loo...

This is how it went down. Rabbi: "I had a horrible dream the other day that I was speaking to the congregation and when I woke up I was.". I thought it was funny. A beautiful ...

Where In The World Is . . . Carmen Angelica. Where in the world am I? Thursday, November 20, 2008. I am so baaaaaad (as the sheep of Ireland would say). Hey all, yes. It has been too long because I am a bad bad girl. But I have a good explanation for not writing for the past 3 weeks. here I shall list my excuses. 1) When I got back from midterm break, we had midterm projects due. All in the same week. 5) I went to Amsterdam shortly after my parents left. 6) It is finals week. Anyway, clearly I am quite r...

Dublin Theatre Festival

Wednesday, 5 October 2011. Manchán Magan, Fabulous Beast Board Member Talks About Rian. Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre’s new show Rian. Will change everything. It is likely to become a sensation, in my opinion finally, a show from Ireland that can fully, proudly and potently represent us on the world stage. It may be as era-defining as the original ‘Ó Riada sa Gaiety’ show over 40 years ago. Describing it without succumbing to hyperbole is difficult. There are only 4 performances of Rian. Dates: Oct 6 - 8.

Dublin the Pleasure, Dublin the Fun!

From Ohio to Dublin. A once in a lifetime adventure full of leprechauns, potatoes, guinness and craic! Wednesday, April 7, 2010. It's a lovely day for a Guinness. It's always funny when stereotypes prove true,. But Guinness in Ireland is a different story. It is literally everywhere:. I've been tempted to buy this shirt of several occasions. and I don't even like Guinness. Obviously I had to take a trip to the Guinness Factory to see if this was really all it was cracked up to be. and it is. Ireland&#821...
