Spinner: Humble Abode
http://spinnermusings.blogspot.com/2010/10/humble-abode.html
Some thoughts on this and that. Thursday, October 28, 2010. And when I say humble, I mean rustic. My penchant for old things has finally reached its pinnacle with our new home. Built in 1932, the Spanish fourplex that we live in is simultaneously shabby and beautiful. Damaged during the Northridge earthquake. Our second floor unit has such a slanted floor that you can roll a pencil down to its sagging corners. But I am determined to reveal its utmost potential! Vase: $7 on ebay. Michelle stopped behind m...

Some thoughts on this and that. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Once upon a time. These elaborate pop-up book installations by Su Blackwell make me want to dive into her fantastical cut-out world and dance with paper dolls! Thursday, April 23, 2009. The Sound of Music makes me happy-sad. Even the bus driver was embarrassed for us. Before this musical bonding experience, I never really knew how far-reaching this childhood relic of a film was (or how many other children hold onto the same relic). I don't know ...

Spinner: May 2009
http://spinnermusings.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Some thoughts on this and that. Tuesday, May 12, 2009. I Heart Hampstead Heath. Last summer, I spent a month in England for a Shakespeare-focused study abroad program through my college. I arrived in London on a Friday- depleted by the worst jet lag EVER. After the program's brief orientation in the lobby of our hotel. I crawled back up to my shared room and fell fast asleep. Would sell out his sister for. When we arrived at the swimming pond for women, I felt as though my lifelong Anglophilic dream had ...

Some thoughts on this and that. Thursday, January 7, 2010. Lars and the Real Girl: After (Thank God it's Over! I know I'm stubborn and self-righteous. But I love a good debate. I married a man who's razor-sharp wit and intelligence can overturn my lifelong convictions. Sometimes, I like being proved wrong. It gives me hope that there is always more to learn. Midwestern Life or Country Living? Sex doll says nothing*. I understand what the writer/director were trying to do here:. Perhaps I'd think more dee...

http://spinnermusings.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Some thoughts on this and that. Monday, March 23, 2009. I can say that twins are creepy because my Grandpa is one. Once when I was little, at a big family reunion, I ran up to my grandpa's twin and hugged him around his legs. When he looked down at me and I realized it wasn't my Gramps, I quickly let go and ran away because, although they are identical, the my Grandpa's eyes are warmer than his twin's. It was like meeting his doppelganger. This is unfair- my Grandpa's twin is a marvelous man. The two wer...

Spinner: back in the saddle
http://spinnermusings.blogspot.com/2010/10/back-in-saddle.html
Some thoughts on this and that. Monday, October 25, 2010. Back in the saddle. After a very complex transition between jobs, company I keep, feelings that I feel, and hobbies that I neglect, I think I am ready to start blogging again. I began a new job at Craft. And, while the caucaphony of clattering silver and gulping patrons was not something I missed about this industry, I found something quite unexpected. The people. Oh, my colleagues, how I love you! I kind of like that.it's true. Back in the saddle.
