2012 YOUTH GRAND SLAM. 2012 YOUth slam team. The 2012 ¡DUENDE! Long Beach Youth Team includes:. 18 (GRAND SLAM CHAMPION). The team is co-coached by ¡DUENDE! Co-founders and organizers, Michelle Denise Jackson and Mae Ramirez. Michelle was a member of the 2009 CSULB Slam Team and the 2011 NYU Slam Team, which took third place at collegiate nationals in 2011. Mae was a member of the 2010 and 2011 CSULB Slam Team, which placed at collegiate nationals in 2010. The team is also mentored by ¡DUENDE!

2012 YOUTH GRAND SLAM. Aims to offer an array of inclusive and diverse arts-based programming for youth ages 13-19 in the Long Beach area. Currently our programs include the following:. 2012 YOUTH GRAND SLAM. 2012 YOUTH GRAND SLAM. On Saturday, April 7th, ¡DUENDE! Will host its first annual Youth Grand Slam Poetry Competition. The poetry slam will be a high-octane event where 12 youth (ages 13-19) will compete for a spot on the 2012 Long Beach Youth Slam Team, to represent ¡DUENDE! And all of Long Beach at the 2012 Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area from July 17-22. Saturday, April 7th from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Doors open at 4:30 PM.

2012 YOUTH GRAND SLAM. Our first round of 2012 Youth Poetry Workshops began Saturday, January 14th. At Homeland Cultural Center's Manazar Gamboa Theater. From 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 31st, we will hold our 12th and final workshop session of the series. Any and all youth are welcome to participate in this final session, regardless of whether they've attended previous sessions. Individual workshop dates were: 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24, and 3/31.
