Cycling Dolomiti Friulane: February 2015
http://dolomiti-friulane.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2015. The road I commute to school from San Quirino to Pordenone is closed for construction. The past few weeks I've tried various workarounds and finally hit on the best. A couple of kilometers of strada bianca but it's hard-packed dirt and no problem. A few km south of San Quirino turn left here:. Coming from the left in this foto, do a quick right and then a left to cross Via Napoleon Aprilis:. Don't go left here. Take a right and the road then makes an immediate left:. Locomoti...

Cycling Dolomiti Friulane: Casera Teglara MTB
http://dolomiti-friulane.blogspot.com/2015/07/casera-teglara-mtb.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. Two "new" trails in Val Arzino. From San Francesco I rode up the highway toward Sella Chianzutan. At the first switchback, turn left on gravel road and. Soon you join the paved road toward Sella Chiampon. Once you arrive take a left onto a gravel road with several trail signs, one for Casera Teglara (CAI 826). It begins ascending steeply with concrete in some stretches and doesn't let up. This beautiful fir forest has very little development and few visitors. Casera La Pala MTB.

Cycling Dolomiti Friulane: Keen SPD sandals
http://dolomiti-friulane.blogspot.com/2015/07/keen-spd-sandals.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. So I started researching and this brand (Keen) seemed well recommended. I bought some and finally installed the cleats today. I'd also just changed the front brake pads so thought I'd combine the ops ck. These sandals work great and are nice and cool. I'm thinking they'd also be good for stream crossings, which usually leave you riding with squishy socks for hours afterward. I'll still use the Alp X's for hard climbs but for moderate rides these will be perfect. Casera La Pala MTB.

Cycling Dolomiti Friulane: November 2014
http://dolomiti-friulane.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 28, 2014. Monte Costa di Paladin MTB. Anyway above 1400 meters the slight drizzle got a little harder and the road confusingly began descending with switchbacks. I needed to look at the map but wasn't going to get it soaking wet, plus my turnaround deadline was nigh (Marilyn needed a ride to the store), so I turned back. I'll try this again next Spring. Pictures I've seen of the view from Monte Costa di Paladin (1700 meters) are pretty dazzling. Sunday, November 23, 2014. Continue bearin...
