SAVING ENDANGERED DUGONGS OF THE WESTERN INDIAN OCEAN. BAZARUTO ARCHIPELAGO COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMME. We plan to work with schoolchildren from within the mainland and the island communities in the Bazaruto Archipelago region. Using dugongs as a conservation flagship species provides both a community custodianship of dugongs and a broader conservation understanding of the marine environment across whales, turtles, dolphins, sharks and fisheries.
